The THRASS
pictures and keywords can be introduced any age, especially from three-years and
upwards, ideally, using the following resources:
T-54: THRASS Picture
Book, and T-55:
THRASS Picture Cards - including by parents and relatives at home. So yes,
THRASS can definitely be introduced in nursery schools.
One of the features of THRASS (see
1. Speaking and Listening Skills) is that "Speaking and listening
skills are taught using pictures and keywords. These skills are taught from the
outset and are the foundation of the whole programme."
You might be interested to visit the THRASS SCHOOL VIDEO DIARY (see
PHONICS 4 PARENTS), over the next few days and weeks, because
there is to be footage of a Parents' Evening and, especially relevant to your
question, parents doing four-hours of training for the THRASS Accredited
Certificate for Parents (the first week, the first two-hours, are focused on the
two resources mentioned above, along with reference to the
THRASS Picturechart,
T-02). I think you will find the reactions of the fifty parents, the first
to do the certificate worldwide, both informative and entertaining!
