GUIDED TRAINING FOR TEACHERS, ASSISTANTS AND PARENTS

If THRASS is embedded as a whole school approach – is it that results don’t become apparent until around Y3/Y4 or should Y1/Y2 teachers be seeing more of an effect?

Results should be noticeable from the start, as indicated by successful completion of the outcomes on the THRASS PROFILECARD. If anyone was to visit your school and pick up a profilecard for any of the children that you teach, the children should be able to demonstrate the skills for the shaded boxes (which reflect successful completion of the outcomes explained in TEACHING THRASS). These skills range from describing and categorising outline pictures and naming letters through to spelling and reading the THRASS HOTWORDS and the THRASS 500 BASEWORDS.
