Makes sense to start with
something that can be carried through to the upper grades. Nice sense of humour
that makes the presenting interesting. THRASS will be so helpful and definitely
has its place. I liked the letter formation input especially.
Brilliant! I particularly
like the structure it lends to teaching spelling and the fact that I will never
again have to say to my pupils "That’s just how the word is spelt. English is a
strange language!"
Brilliant! It has
certainly cleared up some things I’ve been confused about with regards to
phonics.
Well presented. If there
was more time we should have done more teaching practice (audience
participation). Quality of materials is outstanding.

Delivered with some
passion, could not fail to be carried along. Outstanding, instructional
presentation technique: perpetually encouraging – continuously setting people up
to compliment, praise and encourage: the key to great teaching. Outstanding
knowledge of content – not surprising. Alan occasionally digresses – can lead to
confusion – and then forgets to make original point. On a scale of 1 to 10 -
26˝!

Presentation: excellent
knowledge of product. Timetable: sessions possibly a little long for information
load; more time for practical work. Resources: professionally done and flowing;
variety of methods available; enjoyed the evaluation procedures. Price:
reasonable (even in Rands!). Overview: have eventually seen a very practical,
essential tool for the teaching of English. Well done and thank you!
For children with specific
learning problems this answers many questions and I love the idea of being able
to give the children spelling choices (instead of saying, we’ll do that word
another day as it is a monster). I loved the two days but I would have enjoyed
seeing some demonstration lessons with children. Great! Thank you.
Thank you for a most
informative course. I am very excited about learning this new programme with my
own child (to develop his understanding of phonics), as well as working with my
pupils. I do, however, need to practise myself first.
Course moves through at a
rapid rate. Some confusion for individuals that don’t have speech or teacher
training. Would like more information into incorporation of handwriting and
implementation of this programme. Excellent concept and can’t wait to see
results of implementation. Presenters know their topic. Well done.

system that applauds intuition and short cuts – and calling things by their
