The
presentation was very good. I found it very interesting and informative, as well
as educative too. I have learnt a lot, like how to teach standardised English,
teaching phonemes and graphemes, about letter formation etc. which I am going to
deliver to my class. I think that our Ministry should spread this methodology to
all schools in Botswana, as it is important for our kids.
The
course was enjoyable and fantastic. I have learnt a lot as well as improving my
language methodology. I have learnt correct English pronunciation and spelling.
This will enhance my teaching. As an educator, I expect my children to improve,
more especially on reading and spelling skills. THRASS will also help in
improving those children with learning difficulties.
I did
gain a lot. The teacher’s patience made the understanding so much easier and
better. There was a lot to be taught in a short period of time – this could have
been scheduled for more days - in order to extend our understanding. Thanks,
Laola, you have been a good teacher.
THRASS is a very good and interesting methodology of teaching English, hence it
gives a foundation on how to speak the correct English using a standardised
accent. I have learnt a lot on this course about the different phonemes and
graphemes.
This
was so interesting. I learnt that I can make many words from others. It gave me
more information on how to teach words using pictures. The methodology can
capture the learners’ concentration with the educative games. They seem to be
playing, but learning at the same time.
The
course was very educative, as it brought another new method of teaching English
in a simple way – e.g. breaking up words.
The
course was a new innovation which addressed better ways of approaching the
teaching of handwriting, reading and spelling. The content was too much for two
days but as a teacher, I can go and get started. I will contact my peers and
supervisors for help where I get stuck. The presentation was good and activities
given to participants were appropriate.
This
was a very good moment to learn new skills and ways of dealing with language
better – especially for pupils in school. It was also a great opportunity to
review some of the methods that I should use in dealing with pupils with
learning difficulties. This workshop has been so challenging to things that need
more attention in class. I believe from now onwards, I am well equipped with the
information that I have learnt at this workshop and hope to pass it on to my
class at school.
I
have enjoyed the workshop very much, because I have been equipped with the
fruitful method on teaching pupils on how to pronounce and perfect the way of
writing. The materials which were used to reinforce the presentation were
meaningful. The standard of learning at school will improve because I have
learnt many sorts of things, like the difference between a phoneme and a
grapheme.
Very
clear and educative. Explanations, technology, use of materials were quite
impressive. I am sure the participants enjoyed the session and compared to the
training sessions in the past, this has been the best practice. The session also
made us realise that we need to order more resources.
The
course now has made me bridge the gaps I had on differentiating phonemes and
graphemes. It is an interactive method where all learning styles are catered
for. Interesting, hands-on and ensures high standards for teachers, parents and
learners. A thrilling programme.
This
has been a very good presentation. This workshop has been very interesting. The
content was well presented and I have been exposed to more THRASS resources. I
have gained more knowledge and information from the workshop which will help me
in monitoring the programme. I would like to recommend that Senior Education
officers be trained as trainers so that we can roll down the programme and we
are in a position to train the many teachers in using the THRASS material.
