Very useful. Alan was very easy to listen to and explained THRASS concepts really clearly. Great scheme of learning – makes loads of sense!

Clearly, professionally and enthusiastically presented. Fabulous!

Very good – extremely informative –makes complete sense.

Well presented, enthusiastic manner. Varied ideas about how to present activities.

Clear and easy to follow. Confidently and enthusiastically presented.

Interesting. Good refreshing day to give useful ideas for lessons. Helped to solve a few problems.

Was useful. Helped to clarify some problems I had with THRASS before. Some good ideas on how to teach THRASS and games to play.

Found the course useful. Will be more confident now when using THRASS with the pupils. Got plenty of ideas on different activities to use during literacy. Feel it was quite a lot to take in and the pace of the course was a little too quick in parts.

Alan knows his subject inside out. You were obviously enthusiastic about THRASS and this rubbed off on to your audience.

Well planned – well presented. Lots of ideas and good examples of activities to motivate students.

Informative and dynamic. Excellent resources, well paced. Has given me lots of ideas. Looking forward to putting them into practise. Thankyou.

Should have gone for two days – pace very fast – hope new staff were not overwhelmed by the ‘scope of the possibilities of the system’. Have thought a lot about how we continuously train/elevate/monitor implementation. People need individual time to explore issues.

Thoroughly enjoyed the course. Have been working with THRASS for two and a half years without formal training. Today clarified things and confirmed a few others. Very fast pace. A lot to take in.

As an introduction to a specific approach found the very fast pace a little distracting from the content. Would have liked to concentrate on some areas more. As an overall picture, however, interesting approach to an old theme.

Very helpful. Would like to have spent two days, slowly thinking through how to apply the excellent ideas in my classroom with a broad range of complex difficulties and abilities. Lots to think through.

Very enjoyable course. Particularly liked accelerated learning aspects and now feel more confident in teaching THRASS. Thank you for answering my individual questions - bugging me for over a year!

Very informative. A lot to think about.

Very intense, enjoyable course. Need ideas printed on a sheet to take away because there isn’t the time to write down the ideas without missing what speaker is saying.

Lots of ideas. Fast moving – would have picked up more if I had a previous background knowledge and skill level to “hang” it on. Impressed with Phoneme Machine.

Clear understanding of THRASS now.

Found sections of the course very interesting and useful. I feel I couldn’t retain all the information given. Would like to attend a second day course.

A good day to help reinforce the best use of THRASS in school. Has made me want to go back to mainstream and start at the beginning.

Very interesting in the system and supporting resources but felt that a large quantity of information was given in a short time. Would have preferred a more interactive workshop style.

A professional ‘ training’ session. An innovative and charismatic approach. I require lots of practice. However, I must admit I now feel more enthused after today. (initially found some of the pointing with our fingers patronising – but realised it was in good fun).

A very interesting, pacey, well taught course. I have really enjoyed it and it has helped a great deal as I’m totally new to it.

I am going to learn THRASS by teaching it to my own child, which will also help in school.

Very interesting and well presented. Could do with “key-message” sheet (i.e. reminder re. Key Learning points) and would be useful also to have processing gaps in the presentation. Sometimes the pace was too fast! [These were listed in the timetable, located in the catalogue, given to every delegate. Alan]

Very informative. Clearly presented.

Good, informative day.

Logical and reassuring, if a little fast-paced! I still have problems with pronunciation and how to abide by the consistency required in THRASS. Processing gaps would have been supportive.

Good, clear presentation. I found it difficult to imagine using the system effectively with most of the students I work with … many useful elements but learning the charts would be beyond many Y11 students at Bents Green … definitely feel more confident to us it now than I had done though.

I found the day very interesting. I now feel more confident in using THRASS in lessons. I felt the delivery was good, keeping my attention although too fast at times – due to time constraints.

Really good course. Useful, concise, exhausting. Felt materials and focus of day was very relevant to breaking down the teaching of THRASS. The ideas (what to do with THRASS, how to use it) were what we needed.
