GUIDED TRAINING FOR TEACHERS, ASSISTANTS AND PARENTS

THRASS "15 MINS TIMES 2" COURSE,
KZN, SOUTH AFRICA, SEPT 15, 2008

Portable Document Format

A brilliant worthwhile course. I feel so motivated.

Wonderful energy and total insight! Found the constant praise and affirmation used to “celebrate” children’s achievements very inspiring and a good reminder as to our role to each child.

Thank you so much for answering all our questions, re-assuring us that what we are doing is on the right track and for introducing us to the new products. As a school, we really believe that THRASS is the only way to go!

A most enjoyable and fruitful course. Thank you, too, for your enthusiastic approach.

Great refresher. Really useful to have used THRASS and taught it for a year-and-a-half and then bounce questions off Alan. Very useful to see new resources in action and to talk about them.

Interesting. Learnt a lot. Looking forward to using SING-A-LONG and Smart Board activities.

A very good course with a good speaker.

Loved the SING-A-LONG! Can’t wait to use it in my classroom.

Another great training session. It was great to have the opportunity to ask questions and clarify certain points. Also enjoyed finding out about the new resources.

Great course! Everything has become a lot clearer and it is nice to know I’m on the right track. I feel a lot more confident. Alan is a great lecturer!

Clear thorough description/explanation of application in the classroom. More questions were asked this time from teachers, which was valuable. I liked the point of working within a school to ensure we choose, as colleagues, the approach.

Great revision and overview of the THRASS programme. Better insight into the evaluation sheets and how to assess the various stages.

Good. It was easier now that we have worked with the programme and know the terminology.

Very, very helpful. It certainly answered a lot of my questions and made things much clearer. Once again, a very talented presenter.

Nice to have another course, now that we have been working with THRASS for 18+ months. Ideally, it would be so much more effective if I could use the full program (including computer software) in my classroom – but will look forward to that when we get Smart Boards. Well worth the long hours.

Many things became much clearer, hearing them again after having worked with the programme. The new resource material looks very exciting. I hope we get a budget to add this to our school soon! I thoroughly enjoyed the course.

Fabulously informative (but I was exhausted in the last hour!). So much makes sense and I’m really inspired.

Learnt a huge amount. I really understood far more about THRASS than when I did the two-day course. Makes much more sense now.

I really enjoyed seeing all the new THRASS materials available. I am more confident about where to start with the Scheme of Work.

A really worthwhile course. Having been on the first course and working with THRASS this last year, this has really cleared up many questions. Also, having such an enthusiastic person as Alan made the session informative and inspiring.

Thoroughly enjoyed it! Logically and well presented – made so much sense. Outstanding.

Very dynamic and enthusiastic presentation. Many aspects of implementing this programme are much clearer now. I feel more confident about teaching THRASS now.

Excellent. Gave me more of an idea of what to do and what to expect out of the children for assessments. I love the THRASS SING-A-LONG and all the interactive software programmes.

Just what I needed to confirm we are on the right track. Really needed clarification on how to fill in the Profilecard and you did this. I am much more confident to continue implementing THRASS in the classroom.

A most valuable course – especially regarding the filling in of the Profilecards and the verification that we are on the right track. Our questions were answered and new ideas were introduced. You have renewed our enthusiasm for this course that we are totally committed to and look forward to seeing the results of our efforts with the younger children – as they bear fruit in the next few years.

An exciting (but exhausting) afternoon and evening. I will need time and lots of manual reading to come to grips with this. The more I work with THRASS, the more I am sold on the programme. The SING-A-LONG is my absolute BEST!

An interesting and informative talk. It was, however, very long after a day at work. These courses are so valuable that I think they should be done over a weekend when people aren’t tired. THRASS has made our Foundation Phase assemblies a lot of fun.

This course reinforced information learnt previously. It meant far more to me this time, as I was more familiar with the THRASS approach to teaching phonics.

Found it all to be very worthwhile and answered lots of questions that I had.

Very beneficial after recently attending the two day course. The ‘penny’ dropped – which is great, as this is all very new to me, being senior primary trained!

I really enjoyed today. It was inspiring and more meaningful than the first course, now that we have been teaching THRASS.

Great refresher. I feel confident and absolutely love THRASS! A lot has been clarified. We definitely are on the right track! I found the Profilecard section exceptionally valuable. Alan is a wonderful presenter. Thank you for an amazing programme.
