I have been a teacher for nearly 30 years but needed this! I’ve never had any English spelling/reading training as wonderful as this. Laola kept me focused every minute. I’m going to make sure that I use this to the best of my ability for my class.

Very informative. I learnt a whole new method. I will definitely use it in future and so will the rest of our school. The resources and equipment are well-organised, very clear and easy to use and it is durable and good quality. I think not only my struggling spellers in Gr. 6 will benefit, but the stronger ones can be taken to a higher level very easily without any extra prep or effort from my side. Thus I can be involved with all learners all the time and the good spellers won’t feel neglected.

I am convinced that this is absolutely the most powerful way of introducing reading and spelling to any learner. I stand in awe of the program. It is truly amazing to see the effort put in.

Useful because I now know exactly how to teach learners how to read, write and spell words!

I am involved in running the Intermediate Inclusion Programme (additional help) and am excited to introduce those pupils to THRASS and to see them finally decode the English Spelling System. Initially I was a little unsure! The course makes perfect sense! I must be honest, I do still feel a little overwhelmed at the end of the course! Loved the course. Found it wonderful to have a system that could be used from our RR-7 and beyond. A system that can be used to remediate (to a point) as well as enrich and develop children further. The fun approach with great thinking skills was wonderful to see. Laola was an outstanding presenter, willing to help answer questions. Very approachable and enthusiastic.

A wonderful course. It is something that I will not only use in my class but also for my own children. I enjoyed the two day course. I can’t wait to start with the programme at my school. I found all the info very informative something that can be used in all subjects or modules.

A wonderful, worthwhile course. It is so great to have input of this nature. I am really motivated to get started. Laola made the course interesting because of her dynamic personality. She was really approachable and she could answer all questions. I can see how spelling, reading and writing can be made exciting and meaningful to children.

Extremely beneficial. I think and work systematically (I need to see the whole before I can understand and file the parts) – this system is perfect for me to work with because it doesn’t work in unconnected bits but gives an overview to work with that allows me to understand and now explain the parts. It is comprehensive and I feel better equipped to tackle all learning areas in a fun and easily understandable way.

I’m developed educationally. I got skills to teach effectively so that every learner can achieve a goal.

A well-presented, informative course. Lots to use and I certainly feel it can only be of benefit to the children I work with on an individual basis. Lovely resources. Can’t wait to start working with it.

It is a lovely programme to kick start teaching, handwriting, reading and spelling skills. It has been arranged in such a way that both the educator and the learners are in a position to understand graphemes and phonemes. It is a wonderful course and a life-long experience.

A practical and relevant methodology that can easily be incorporated into our classrooms. I loved learning that ‘a’ is not just the /ah/ sound – that there are different functions. Very helpful and informative. A well organised and clearly presented course.

This is the second time I have attended this course and I feel I have learnt so much more this time around as the school will be implementing THRASS. I am very excited to try it all out and start the process in my class. I think this programme will help with many problems that our learners are facing when learning to read, write and spell. Laola did a fantastic job throughout. Everything was easy to understand and it was very interactive. This was my second time and I feel like I have consolidated everything I learnt the first time. I feel a lot more confident now and can’t wait to teach THRASS.

An excellent method. It has made me far more aware of how to pronounce words. I think that any child, who has a problem in the class with reading and spelling, will be able to overcome challenging areas with the use of THRASS. A big thank you to Laola for being such a fantastic course facilitator.
