GUIDED TRAINING FOR TEACHERS, ASSISTANTS AND PARENTS

THRASS TWO-DAY CERTIFICATE,
DAY 2,
BIRMINGHAM, OCT 1, 2007

Portable Document Format

Really enthusiastic and passionate delivery. Liked the constant recapping, repetition and fast pace. Plenty of practical ideas for how to best deliver THRASS to my class.

Very well presented. A lot to take in. Interesting. I hope our school uses THRASS consistently. Brilliant.

An excellent day – giving us a lot to think about within school.

Absolutely fantastic. You shot from the hip and told us how it is! I appreciate the truth! Learnt so much.

Very informative – made me think. It’s common sense really.

Enlightening and very helpful in getting us up and running. Very pleased with Modern Language charts.

A super, informative day. I have enjoyed it thoroughly. I will be looking at your web site tonight.

Very useful. Lots of information and good ideas for teaching. It was also made fun and enjoyable.

A man with a passion and a genuine one. Spelling log is a superb idea. Should be used throughout KS2.

Excellent really enjoyed the day. Very informative. Full of excitement. Tutor made day enjoyable. Can’t wait to try out in class, as I think it will work very well.

Training was intensive and interesting, interactive. I would like to start using it with Foundation Stage and use it with SEN children intensively.

Very informative both as a Teaching Assistant and as a parent.

Very informative and interesting! Learnt a lot about phonics, spelling and reading and how to teach it.

Presentation excellent. Given a broader understanding of how to teach THRASS. Can see it working as long as it is consistently used throughout school.

Very useful – better understanding of how to teach it and in different ways. Broadened knowledge.

Made everything much clearer. I can now put it into my lessons.

Useful to revisit. Look forward to trying it in classroom.

Very interesting and given me more ideas to move my children on.

Crammed a lot into one day. Felt tired by mid-afternoon. Glad I did the two days training. Unfortunately as I am part-time, I am not in class when THRASS is taught.

Lots of content. Good explanations, practice video segments helpful. Made me reflect on practice. Already thinking how I will use this with a SEN class. An awful lot to take on board.

Found it very useful. It will be interesting to see how it works with upper KS2.

Now it all makes sense. I have lots of children with S.E.N. and spelling has always been a problem. I feel that this will really improve this. Thank you for a very informative day.

Very informative and enlightening. Raised a lot of issues. I think it will work very well as long as the school is consistent. Good resources.

Lots of ideas on how to initiate THRASS in the classroom. Very useful. Good to update subject knowledge. Lots to think about. Shame I missed the first day! I understand THRASS a lot better now.

Very interesting. A different way of looking at teaching reading and spelling skills. I will definitely be trying to use THRASS throughout the day.

I found it very difficult to understand during the first morning session. Much clearer later. Thought provoking. Well presented, (although very quick at times, especially if you have only done one day). “Let’s do it”! from Reception (even Nursery).

Invaluable as a parent and a Teaching Assistant. I will definitely use THRASS with my own children.
