GUIDED TRAINING FOR TEACHERS, ASSISTANTS AND PARENTS

THRASS TWO-DAY CERTIFICATE,
SOMERSET, MAY 3-4, 2007

Portable Document Format

Enthusiastic, passionate speaker. Very informative. Simple and structured way to teach phonics. A fun way to learn. Great Calendar chart. Very enjoyable two days.

A fantastic two days where I learnt a huge amount. Alan’s enthusiasm and energy was outstanding and the way in which he put the information was clear, easy to understand and enjoyable – what a teacher! I will be using everything learned with my class and look forward to seeing the improvements develop!

Great course – wish I’d known about it many years ago.

Fantastic! Thank you very much. We have used your THRASS for seven years now and it has made a tremendous difference here. We love it.

Fantastic. I started at school in September and was faced with the prospect of teaching THRASS! Panic! It now is making sense. I see the reasoning behind the concept and it is refreshing to see someone making sense of our language. Loved the hands on approach, especially the Grapheme Snap game. Can’t wait to play it with my pre-school child Thank you for a great, informative and fun course.

I found the course enjoyable and thought provoking. It’s provided a lot of interesting openings for my 1:1 teaching. It has given me more confidence to use THRASS in the class situation and given me ideas for lesson delivery.

After three years in the dark trying to understand the system and gain some confidence to deliver the program. I believe I have realised its potential and have gained much more confidence in navigating the charts and thus (hopefully) implementing it in the classroom.

Encouraging – need the ‘whole’ school’ and the parent/carers/pre-school community to be informed and enthused about THRASS as a life skill.

What a refreshing way to teach phonics. I would love to implement this further doing this in our early morning aerobics session with whole school.

Expected same old, but NO! Inspiring, but at the same time reassuring about the essentials of literacy.

Inspiring. I now need to get back to the classroom and use it! I look forward to watching dyslexic children’s progress on this. Could we please visit a school!

Brilliant, what a sane approach! I love its honest way of teaching language. I want to recommend it to the Pre-Prep.

Wonderful course. Wish I had been on it forty years ago! Loads of information. Feel that I now need time to go and digest it all.

Very good concepts – believable. Presented well – however, quite a lot of information to take in. Resources look rather complicated too. Would have been good to do two days. Need to emphasise would be better if it was a whole school scheme.

Thank you again. Again, highlighted how much learning I still have to do in this field, even after 25 years! Lots of work to do on assessment and transition between years to consider.

A very interesting course which made a lot of sense. Good ideas to take into other areas. Great fun well presented.
