GUIDED TRAINING FOR TEACHERS, ASSISTANTS AND PARENTS

THRASS ACCREDITED CERTIFICATE,
GABORONE, BOTSWANA, MAR 6-7 2009

Portable Document Format

Very enlightening. I am at a school that uses THRASS for all its teaching and all the teachers use it, so I felt out of my depth. It’s been such an eye opener and things make so much sense. The use of aids was fantastic and now I know how to use all the materials at my disposal at work. I was terrified of the SMART Board, but it’s quite easy! I also like the ideas and suggestions on bringing in your own materials e.g. magazines, packaging. It was great fun, especially getting us to do stuff – pronouncing words, letters and doing some exercises. Watch out World!

Really interesting and it made a lot of sense. I feel really enthusiastic about going back to the nursery school that I work at and put into place some new ideas I have gained. I have worked with a deaf child before and find it very interesting that THRASS offers the same learning range for deaf children. I would be interested in finding out more about the THRASS programme for the deaf. Thank you for a very informative course, which was well presented by Laola Altschul.

After teaching THRASS for 3 years, it now makes much more sense! This has helped me understand how much more we can implement THRASS in school. All staff teaching children should do this course, to get the information necessary to teach English properly. I found that I now understand how phonemes and graphemes work. It was very valuable and now makes English make sense!

I had no clue as to how I was going to teach my young class, having moved from teaching older children. THRASS has opened a whole lot of ideas for me and I now feel more confident. I am looking forward to using THRASS effectively to the benefit of my pupils.

Enriching and empowering teachers to view the English language as a complex language which does not have to be restricted to phonetic spelling, as the words have different spellings and sounds. The course enables teachers and pupils to improve on their reading, speaking and spelling skills through following the THRASS Picturechart. I will definitely implement the programme with my nursery school pupils to help them to learn to write and read accurately.

Marvellous. I learnt a lot. At first I looked a bit lost, but now am leaving with a lot. The tutor was very good and accurate enough in all the stages for me to understand and grasp all I learnt. It is a wonderful course. Please keep up with this great work. I will make sure children from my school benefit from what I have learnt!

Well presented, enjoyable, informative. THRASS now makes sense to me!

I now can do my own THRASS lessons. This course was great! It has given me a lot of insight and understanding! I am excited about starting next week!
