THRASS TWO-DAY CERTIFICATE,
GTG, SOUTH AFRICA, MAR 16-17, 2007

Portable Document Format

Very well presented and very comprehensive. I can’t believe that one person thought of so many ways of implementing language on so many levels. I’m excited and can’t wait to start.

What a lovely workshop! Can’t wait to get into the classroom to teach THRASS to my class and to report back to the teachers. The course taught me so much more about the English language.

Thank you for a wonderful insight into a whole new approach to teaching. I cannot wait to implement this in the classroom! I can see that, in my position of teaching special needs children, this method is going to help me and the children tremendously. Keep up the good work!

An invigorating and challenging two days! Delivery had great pace with excellent information imparted in a dynamic and vibrant way.

I thoroughly enjoyed the course and felt it was presented very well. Everything was explained well and all examples were fun and understandable. I think this will be greatly used in my class.

I am totally encouraged to give it a go in my classroom – starting with Picture Location. I am in awe of you, Laola. Your passion and knowledge of THRASS is wonderful. Thank you for bringing THRASS to Southern Africa. I will keep you posted as to how it all happens in my classroom!

An interesting approach to the language. Removes barriers and encourages lateral thinking and creative thinking. Enthusiastic lecturing. Most enlightening and enjoyable two days.

Thank you, Laola. This is going to be an adventure!

Really enjoyed it. Gained so much knowledge. Feeling more confident to teach THRASS.

I enjoyed the course very much. It is a great help to me. I did not know that I can make so many sounds. I really like how Laola presented it – it was super – she is a good teacher. I also hope it goes further to other schools. I think THRASS is cool.

Small workshop – hands on, comfortable. We got to ask questions and concerns were explained. Laola’s passion for THRASS was inspiring and leaves us with hope and motivation to take our children further. If you are going to do something, do it the right way. It makes sense!

This course has proved to be well worth my while. I have done it in order to help my kids when they are exposed to it in school. I like to be involved in their education and feel that now I will be more capable and confident. I really enjoyed the course.

I was keen on attending the course when I heard my daughter’s school was introducing THRASS this year. I am glad that I know what she will be doing and that I can help her or just even understand her when she discusses something to do with THRASS. This course has really helped me to do so.

I thought the course was very enlightening and will certainly add a new and exciting method of teaching. The children can only benefit from it and it will certainly help with spelling, reading and writing. It is wonderful.

Laola’s energy and enthusiasm for the programme is inspiring. THRASS is an exciting, innovative approach to English and I look forward to implementing it. The course itself was well presented, organised and most informative. Laola was eager to share her vast knowledge.

This was a very informative course and I am very excited about the idea of THRASS. It is a new and fresh idea and as a student who is finishing at the end of the year, I am excited to be able to try it.

Excellent! Thank you, Laola – very carefully explained.

I found the course thoroughly informative and awakening. THRASS is making us aware of a new and exciting way to teach children handwriting, reading and spelling skills, which I have found refreshing. Thank you Laola – you were brilliant!

THRASS is an exciting new method for me. It was an interesting course. I feel capable of implementing it successfully.

Well-run course that was very interesting. A new way of teaching English that I am excited to begin.

A wonderful introduction to THRASS. Laola really knows the system and was able to share her expertise with us. Her passion for teaching, particularly of THRASS is clearly evident and very inspiring. Thank you for a well run and superbly run course. Much appreciated.

Very interesting, enjoyed it and am excited to implement it!

A very thorough course. I am looking forward to putting it into practise!

Very nice. I actually learned a lot of new things I didn’t know. This will help me in my teaching.

Very informative. There were many things I already knew but also a lot of new things to learn.

Very beneficial for teaching reading and spelling and understanding how language can be analysed and synthesised. The meta-cognitive approach is so good for us all to think about what we are doing. Thanks a million.

A good programme that appears to have worked all over the world. It involves a lot of spatial orientation and visual memory components that LD kids struggle with – so on occasions it does need to be adapted to their needs.

THRASS can definitely help our children and help them understand our language better.

It seems like a brilliant programme! I still have reservations about pronunciation but will give it a good try in therapy. Course could have been a bit more to the point. Generally great. I learnt a lot! Excited to user it!

Thorough course. Content was good.

The course carries a lot of content and was very interesting. I look forward to putting it into practise.

Thoroughly enjoyed the course. I reserve judgement until I have implemented it to see its effectiveness in my classroom.

I really enjoyed the course. It gave me new ideas and methods of teaching spelling. I feel more consolidation would make me feel more confident teaching THRASS. However, I will be starting it in my weekly spelling list and handwriting. Thank you so much.

It was informative and at least I will be able to implement it in school. Well planned. However, I feel that too much content was put into two days – a bit too much to assimilate.

Good. I do feel that more could have been done on the first day on what actually should happen in the classroom because I felt very lost and didn’t feel like I had learnt anything about THRASS.

Very informative and covered each stage well with examples about how to teach in class and how to expand beyond THRASS lessons was helpful – especially for me, as I can now incorporate it into my OT sessions with the children.

An interesting approach to spelling and reading. Well presented. I am sure that it will be enjoyed by learners in the classroom.

It has put the theory into a more practical way of thinking. It was an excellent way of learning a new way of interpreting the English language and being able to bring it down to a pre-primary level.

Well presented course. Very interesting.

Interesting information and approach to reading/spelling. Well presented. Look forward to using it.
