A very full day with a lot to take in! Very
good presentation – pace and all people involved. Would be useful to have it as
a whole school inset training to get all staff on board. Good resources
available.
Good explanation of relationship with synthetic and analytic phonetics and
current debate – hence over all rationale. Good use of IT. Good practical
demonstration of materials and resources.
Excellent – superb presentation – lots of food for thought – excellent journey
through materials and ways of introducing THRASS. Good inter-relation to other
techniques already around. A wonderful way of mapping our language and
rationalising what has hitherto been labelled irregular. Thank you Alan.
Knew nothing about this beforehand and received no training on my PGCE (long
time ago!) Learnt a lot and want to give it a go.
Very useful day – has made lots of facts clearer. Has shared good reasons why
schools should take this on board, e.g. not having to change from one programme
to another.
Really interesting seeing THRASS for the second time – just as exciting as the
first. It felt like we teachers were taking a lot of stick at times but
understood the purpose of this. Many thanks. Excellent.
Fantastic – abundance of information. Will look at e-mail training/course.
Opened my eyes to different spelling strategies. Looking forward to returning
home to try out with my pre-school child. Need to go away and look at in more
depth.
Wonderful, inspirational. A bit concerned – I’ve been doing it wrong for years
and how much conversion will cost. But really enjoyed it.
Very good clear course. Very dynamic, kept my attention. For one day there is a
lot to take in, so would be interested in doing the day 2 course.
Very interesting course. Next problem selling to staff. I’m very convinced of
the programme.
An excellent day. I will begin to use letter names with my special needs
children and infiltrate the school gradually so that the ‘available repertoire’
begins in Foundation stage. And my grand daughter will love the Picture Book!
Very thought provoking course. A lot to take in for one session, but lots to
discuss with colleagues. Very enthusiastic presentation which is catching. Loved
the key phoneme cards. Excellent visuals.
An excellent days training. Many thanks.
This was the second time I have attended THRASS training, the first being a two
hour short course. I feel much more confident now, but will need to take on the
e-mail course. Very lively presentation.
Great.
Excellent. Finally something to hang it all on!
Very interesting - with useful ideas on how to start using it. Brilliant
resources. Lots to think about.
Just so much to take on! Excellent knowledge and explanations. Great.
Very useful in highlighting current phonic debates. Gave very clear ideas in
philosophy and practical ideas behind implementing phonics as a whole school
approach. The course was well presented and enjoyable – it has given me a lot to
think about, thanks.
