GUIDED TRAINING FOR TEACHERS, ASSISTANTS AND PARENTS

THRASS ONE-DAY FOUNDATION,
HAMPSHIRE, MARCH 2, 2006

Portable Document Format

A very interesting enjoyable course. I wish my own children had been taught this way!

Alan delivered a very energetic, vibrant and dynamic presentation. He is very entertaining as well as informative and made the whole day fun but very educational. Thankyou.

Very interesting. Thankyou. I hope we can make a difference. This needs to be a whole school project.

Food for thought! Makes sense … now want to see it in action as THE school system; to be introduced when children start. Want also to use with adults at our pre-school sessions.

Totally made sense – most particularly the ‘sounds have a place to live’ point. A positive approach to responding to spelling errors. Lots of fun suggestions for teaching and reinforcing the programme, also strategies for teaching per se. Enjoyable.

Excellent! Made sense of certain things our children do, i.e. rogue capitals in middle of words! Can’t wait to feed back to other members of staff and look forward to using THRASS.

Very good, well presented and interesting. Alan was very easy to listen to and keeping you engaged. Hope to do Day 2 sooner rather than later so I don’t forget things.

Lively and interesting. New look at how we (and the children!) learn.

Very good. Look forward to next time.

Very good, exhausting though. Fun. Clearly presented and explained. It all makes sense now! This needs a whole school Inset.

Would like our feeder schools involved. Excellent – would like the whole school involved in the following ways: - Inset for staff – mainstream so they’re onboard even if it’s only a chart/classroom – and its used to help spellings. Use for Year 7’s in much more detail – lesson plans formed to include THRASS.

Very informative, made THRASS easy to understand. An enjoyable and invaluable course. Alan delivered this in such a way that kept us all motivated until the end.

Very good. Very informative. Very useful.

Very informative and clear. Lots to consider and lots of possibilities. Need to think. Great day.

Very good session. I think that my primary school would be very interested in THRASS as a whole school project. I can really see the benefit that THRASS could give to the children at my school.

Thankyou Alan. An absolute revelation. Looking forward to becoming a ‘pilot’ secondary school for the THRASS approach.

A well presented enthusiastic presentation. An eye-opener. If only this had been around when I was in school. It’s good to move away from “rules”. English may not have to be so complicated, after all.

I think the course was very useful as it gives a map of sounds and can speed up the learning of English language. The teaching aid is simple to use and could be made fun. Thank you very much!

I’ve had a great day and am so pleased I could share it with our team – roll on Day 2!
