A very well presented course! Your knowledge is admirable! I am looking
forward to getting started. Everything makes so much more sense! Thanks.
An enlightening presentation. I really learnt an incredible amount and to my own
benefit. Spelling has never been my strength, however, I now feel that I am
confident, not only to teach spelling and reading, but to be able to do it
myself. A well-presented and explained course! Thank you.
Most interesting. Very thorough, very systematic. Each stage explained and good
strategies and examples shared. Thank you.
Very valuable. New insight gained. Look forward to implementing. Course was well
presented and clear. Thank You.
Thank you! Excellently presented, dynamic – rather overwhelming, but definitely
usable! I can see huge improvement in spelling and reading coming our way!
Very interesting and informative. Well prepared and presented. Thoroughly
enjoyed the two days and look forward to implementing it in Grade 5.
Thank you for a fresh way of approaching spelling. The resources look great and
user friendly, and highly interactive. It will be fascinating to implement it
and see the results!
Very informative and practical course. Excited about starting this in my class
and seeing the level of reading eventually. Very long and on a Friday afternoon,
very tired – needed more interaction. Can’t wait to implement this in my class.
Most valuable and interesting. Very well presented. Keen to get started.
Excellent. Most valuable. Information explained on a basic level that we all
could make our own.
I had seen a presentation on THRASS and was very interested in it. I liked that
it is both visual and auditory. The whole thing makes sense. I do use a lot of
these methods in my teaching, showing that one sound has different written
representations. I would be very interested to know the impact of this method on
children with learning disabilities. I know the level of children’s spelling,
reading improved but did the number of remedial children decrease? There are
often children who are borderline cases for remedial. The course was well
presented. It was a lot of information over two days and we are all at different
levels.
Enlightening, exciting teaching methods. Look forward to using this approach
with the girls. I am sure exciting times lay ahead.
I have really enjoyed the past two days. I have personally battled to spell
since a young age and have found that this spelling system makes so much sense.
I hope that through using this system, that my spelling, too, will improve. I am
excited to get started.
Very comprehensive. I almost wish that we could have had an extended course
spread over a longer time. It was exciting to see tremendous possibilities open
to us as teachers to get our children to read - For me, the most important
thing. It is so empowering to use language and words – something that can never
be taken away from us (normally speaking). Thank you very much.
As a speech therapist, I thoroughly enjoyed the course with the focus on
incorporating the phonemic aspect so essential for reading and spelling. Thank
you for all the input. The course was certainly well worth the time spent over
the weekend!
