GUIDED TRAINING FOR TEACHERS, ASSISTANTS AND PARENTS

THRASS ACCREDITED CERTIFICATE,
WESTERN CAPE, SA, JUNE 2-3, 2009

Portable Document Format

Thank you so much for a wonderful enriching course! I enjoyed every minute of it! I found it most helpful to see the THRASS programme laid out so clearly and carefully. I feel so encouraged and excited to begin teaching with this wonderful and truthful programme.

A stimulating course, which has challenged the way we teach phonics and reading. I’ve enjoyed it and look forward to implementing THRASS. Thank you for your time, enthusiasm and expertise.

It was the most challenging and wonderful course I have ever attended. I am looking forward to using the THRASS skills add method I learnt during the two days. As a second language speaker, I am keen and enthusiastic to start teaching THRASS. It was fantastic and I can’t wait to make a change to all the South African children I teach. Thank you Hilary and Viva THRASS!

Presentation: Outstanding, sensitive, lively and highly informative. The course is a breakthrough in the teaching of reading and spelling skills which is greatly needed in SA schools!

An inspiration and has really inspired me to continue implementing the programme in my teaching. Thank you Hilary for presenting the course so enthusiastically and with a great sense of humour.

An incredibly interesting and enjoyable course. Hilary is a super speaker and gave great ideas and tips. THRASS is an exciting tool to use in the classroom.

Very interesting and exciting to see something “true”. Where were you when I trained to teach 30 years ago? It makes such sense and we can’t wait to implement the programme at our school.

Very vibrant! Enjoyed every moment of it! Had a wonderful two days. Hilary was passionate about the course. I can definitely use all of the resources in my classroom. Glad I attended!

Wonderful!! Thank you so much – I can’t wait to get started! Awesome presentation.

Fantastic – I’ve learnt a lot! I think though, that if a school wants to teach effectively, all teachers at a particular school need to do the course, especially Grades 1, 2 and 3 teachers to start with.

What a wonderful host Hilary was! Full of fun! A ray of sunshine. I’ve had a cracking good time!

Wonderful. I have appreciated it very much and Hil was a wonderful presenter.

A very informative two days. Have learnt some very useful tools to use in class.

A tremendously inspiring course. It put the teaching of THRASS nicely into perspective and “Made a lot of sense!”

Very well presented – wonderful.

Fantastic. Thanks Hilary! I feel confident now and have a really good understanding of this great truthful programme.

What a privilege to hear more about THRASS “straight from the horse’s mouth.” Such a professional, informative, helpful, practical, insightful presentation!

Great course. It was a very structured, interesting two days.

A wonderful and inspiring two days. I am excited to start implementing THRASS.

Very good. Thank you for your time. I found it informative.

A very enriching course – leaving me very enthusiastic to get started. It is evident that passion, knowledge and research has produced a wonderful programme. It really makes so much sense.

Very interesting for me as a Key Stage 2 (Intersen) teacher. I have never received any training in teaching basic literacy skills. However, because the THRASS scheme makes comparisons to the previous phonics approach, I can see how it is superior. I think that the presenter’s knowledge, experience and enthusiasm has definitely encouraged me to use this for children who struggle with reading and spelling skills and if I ever work with Foundation phase. I would recommend the course as eye-opening, fun and interesting.

Thank you for two fun filled, informative days. I am easily bored, but you held my attention. I can’t wait to start THRASS. After some courses I am left thinking “Oh no, too much work”, but wonderful work – what an inspiration compared to the rather aged Letterland.

Thank you for a very informative, comprehensive course. Your enthusiasm is inspirational and I can really see the value of teaching reading and spelling skills this way. It makes more sense and I can see that learners will experience success quicker. Thanks for answering all the queries Hilary.

Most enjoyable and inspiring. Looking forward to implementing it. Thanks to Alan and Hilary for a wonderful phonics programme, well presented.

Thank you for an amazing two days! The visual presentation, order and predictability of THRASS is going to have a huge impact on our children who have special needs. I am really excited to use this with our autistic learners and will share our journey with you as we go!

The course was really, really great. I did learn so much in two days and will tell everybody about THRASS. The THRASS team is doing a really good job. God bless you.

Excellent – thoroughly enjoyed it! The practical tips were very helpful. Day 2 was quite challenging in terms of applying our own knowledge of analysing the words correctly, and there were one or two discrepancies in terms of how we pronounce words (perhaps challenge us to analyse a few on our own). Thank you so much – I’m challenged!

Very helpful in that I now have a better understanding of how to put together a program for the children we are working with, who have not had the benefit of play school, pre-school and in some cases formal schooling. With these tools I am sure that they can be helped tremendously.

Absolutely brilliant course and lovely programme. Thank you Hilary for an excellent presentation. Look forward to putting this into practice.

Fantastic course! Absolutely enlightening and brilliant. Totally converted and excited to start using these techniques! It made so much sense and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was so superbly presented that I could quite happily do it again. Very informative as well as practical and enjoayble.
