Super ideas – it all makes sense. Very informative and interesting.

A very useful and practical course. Roll on it’s introduction in our school!

Very informative and fits in with rewrite of PIPS for Literacy strategy. Interesting to see where children’s spelling is going. Lots of well-paced activities useful for odd minutes of the day.

Very clearly presented. Very interesting subject matter. Can see that a wide age range of children can access this valuable resource.

It makes me think more analytically about how I spell and teach spelling – thank you! Very interesting and thought provoking.

I found it very interesting and as a self-confessed poor speller I wish I had been taught this way. I can see how this will help three children with dyslexic tendencies in the class I work in. I found Hilary friendly and informative. Thankyou.

A very interesting day – a different view on things. Plenty of things to think about.

Very interesting day. Informative and thought provoking! Would be interested in working with a child needing S.A.L.T. An enjoyable day.

A very informative and interesting day. Very thorough explanations and great activities. You have given me a lot of ideas. The assessment sheets look extremely useful.

Very interesting and useful. The delivery was fluent and well paced, although some parts were a little rushed due to time constraints.

An interesting day, lots to think about. Will be beneficial to the dyslexics in our class, great for the under-achievers. Great when it kicks in - in both schools.

Very informative. Can now use picturecharts more efficiently. Lots of questions have been answered.

Very clearly presented. Anomalies explained. Lots of support resources too. Thankyou.

A well put together course. Informative and full of many good ideas. I would very much enjoy using THRASS. Lively and friendly presentation made the course very enjoyable. Thankyou.

Very interesting as I was taught reading and spelling by learning the whole word – no phonemes. Picture clues very helpful and will be used. Not so sure about record sheet. Very time consuming to do whole class – better for selected children. Course clear, easy to follow, very practical.

A great deal to take in in one day, but Hilary is a very enthusiastic teacher. I hope our children will greatly benefit from THRASS.

I can see the potential for developing this as a way to teach spelling and reading. I like the visual layout of the phonemes on the chart and can see children using this successfully once familiar. Good recap of phonemes (plus some I hadn’t thought of before). Lots of ideas for short pair activities that you can easily slip into whole class teaching across whole curriculum.

Reading and spelling make much more sense this way. Why has it been taught alternatively for so long. I was originally sceptical about the synthetic phonics ideas presented in the media. Great presentation; lively and enthusiastic, clear, although a lot to take in.

Will help with many pupils who still have difficulties. Needs to be adopted throughout the school. Very intensive, needed more time to consider information instead of the information coming in torrents.

Very good. Found sorting phonemes quite hard but feel it would be very beneficial for children.

Need more! Thanks for the games.

A busy day with lots of new ideas. I came across things that I have used on other programmes. Hilary made the day fun and came across as a very good speaker.

Great course! Would love to do Day 2. Makes so much sense. Gained better understanding of phoneme chart (some I wasn’t sure of).

A productive day. Course delivered very effectively. Looking forward to using the programme.

A great introduction to THRASS. Hilary was very comprehensive. However, another day course may be helpful as there are so many strategies to learn.

I found the course very interesting. My daughter is using THRASS Yr. R and it clarified a few points for me. Not only will I be using it in school but I will be able to help my daughter more confidently
