Most interesting session – inspirational! Many
useful ideas on how to present the work. Enthusiastic presentation and very
willing to answer our many probing questions. Good to have a well researched
programme to follow.
Your enthusiasm was very infectious. A most informative and thought provoking
day. A refreshing new approach for “an old hand”! Wish this had been around 26
years ago for a NQT.
Extremely interesting. Does make a lot of sense after you sit down and have a
think about it. Much better to give children a reason as opposed to ‘it’s a
silent letter’! Progression is fantastic. Very helpful to follow. Good range of
activities to use. Clearly explained.
Interesting to learn about another approach. Seems as if some information would
be easy to use and implement, but some will need a little more thought and
“using” to become familiar. Enjoyed the day – thanks!
Excellent insight into the THRASS programme. As a SENCO I am interested in
delivering this to SEN children, but also feel it has implications for using as
a whole school resource. I will be enthusing about this to the rest of the staff
I work with!
Excellent – a really useful day’s training – let’s hope we use this since it
seems a very thorough scheme from what we have been shown. I especially
appreciated the *GCA and there may be several right ways of doing this, since I
have always had problems with schemes not really allowing for exceptions.
The course was very comprehensive and thought provoking! I would be interested
in having a go at using some of the resources to see how KS2 children would
respond.
Excellent – clear/easy to follow. Scheme appears to be a great system – used
across the school not just Key Stage 1. Great resources – could be the same from
class to class – wall charts etc. Course was very well presented – good pace.
I would have liked some more input into how this works in Key Stage 2. Is it
more a special needs tool to pick up children who need extra support. Lots of
Yr. 3 and 4 are beyond most of this apart from as a spelling tool.
Interesting. Would have liked time to look through resources. Hard to imagine
how to do it – need time to take it in. An eye-opener – learnt a lot.
Informative – particularly enjoyed the morning. Would like to have had time to
look through the resources in more detail.
Excellent resources. Very helpful for my own understanding and knowledge. Need
to understand more about how it can be implemented in KS2 classrooms.
Good information in the morning. Afternoon session not so informative.
Excellent concept/product, can’t imagine it not benefiting any child. Well
delivered, clear and concise. Really enjoyed the course and sincerely hope we
will use THRASS and use it as a school standard and watch reading and writing
skills go through the ceiling.
Very good – clearly explained and benefits clearly evident. Would have to
discuss whether to start at Stage 1 with Year 5/6 etc. or just for those
children of particular spelling need. Resources are well thought out, colourful
and appropriate.
Very useful, very clear information. Easy to take in. Easy listening.
In role of governor, helpful to have an overview – presentation clear and well
paced. Materials clear and attractive – CD package, good consolidation.
Needed more active participation – especially in afternoon when became much more
of a marketing exercise. Excellent scheme but needed to try it out and discover
any issues we need to address as a school/team.
Great concept. Very easy to follow and I think to teach to the children. Hope we
use it!
I found this a useful, well structured course. It would have been helpful for me
to have more ideas for making THRASS relevant to older pupils, and how to teach
this to a whole class. I am sure it will be very useful!
Very useful, easy explanations, easy to listen to. I’ve learnt a lot today.
