A fantastic course! I have spent most of it laughing and in that way I have learned so much. I can’t wait to feed back to school and am sure my colleagues will enjoy THRASS as much as I have.

Very, very helpful and very informative. The doubts that I had about how to start teaching young Spanish children to read and write in English have now been answered. Whilst I know that it’s going to take us a lot longer to achieve the results that we want, I know that with THRASS we’ll get there in the end! 

These two days have been really great. We have covered basically all the areas that were a bit grey for me like how to apply the ten THRASS stages, how to use the Profilecard, games that you can engage children in. Hilary explained it all in very clear English. The course was very well presented. Thank you very much. We had lots of fun too. 

There is still fabulous education in South Africa! When I came across the THRASS in Johannesburg, I knew it was a must. I am so thrilled that I came from the U.S.A. for this two day course. Could not have benefited off the internet. Nothing like the real thing. Hilary, you were totally outstanding. I have started to learn the THRASS, have a long way to go, but have gained so much in two days, through your outstanding presentation and knowledge. This program is a must in my school. 

As someone who knew nothing about THRASS I have found the course really encouraging. The resources are beautifully colourful and so useful. I can’t wait to use them. I found Hilary really interesting and I am feeling really enthusiastic about setting THRASS up in my school. The whole course was very informative and funny! The best I have been on in ages. I will definitely be recommending you for an INSET. 

Excellent course with loads of practical ideas to use in class. Very helpful to address some queries about why some graphemes are not on the picture chart. Sure I will be more effectively teaching phonics using THRASS from now on. 

Really enjoyable. The first day of the course I learned very useful things to do with non-native speakers in the classroom. I think the 5, 6, 7 and 8 year olds would learn a lot from stages 1 to 5 to start with, and after a couple of years and adjustments they would get to stage 9 and 10. Please, keep me informed if you do any training in Spain. Congratulations on your presentation Hilary! 

Brilliant! Most comprehensive insight into the English language I have ever received. Very informative and relevant (even for secondary school students). I will be taking many of the ideas and activities into the classroom this week. 

Excellent delivery of so much – each part building on the last section of learning and frequent revisits for consolidation. I have been teaching THRASS for a long time, but I was fully engaged for the whole two days. I learned a lot, enjoyed thoroughly listening to what I was familiar with taught in such an interesting, entertaining and enlightened fashion. I have lots of new ideas for old resources and thoroughly enjoyed exploring the new ones. The Phoneme Machine in particular can do so much more than I thought. Thank you so much Hilary. You are truly amazing.

Fantastic! Thoroughly enjoyed the course. I learned lots of things I can’t wait to try out with my class. Hilary was very enthusiastic but explained everything in an easy way. I enjoyed her style of presentation which gave us ideas of how to present ideas to the children. I wish the course had been longer so I could try things out properly before going back to the classroom. I would recommend this course to anyone!

An excellent course. I feel I’ve learnt so much in such a short time! I particularly like the manner of Hilary’s teaching, as if, mostly, we are pupils; this makes it so much easier to identify how to teach our own classes. 

Invaluable. I have been using THRASS for nine months and so this course has clarified so many points for me. Although I could see benefits to the programme prior to the course, I can now really see how powerful this approach to teaching, spelling, reading and writing is. I have learnt many useful activities that I will be able to use in my THRASS lessons as well as my KS3 English lessons. It has made me re-assess my view of teaching these skills and I will be taking a very different approach with my students from now on. Absolutely excellent.
