GUIDED TRAINING FOR TEACHERS, ASSISTANTS AND PARENTS

THRASS TWO-DAY CERTIFICATE,
DAY 2, BEDFORDSHIRE, JUNE 27, 2008

Portable Document Format

Thanks again! Reaffirmed what a brilliant team job we are doing in Year 1.

Very interesting and valuable two days. A lot of information and ideas to think about. Well presented.

I enjoyed the two days learning about THRASS. The new resources look really good and hopefully we’ll be able to use these within school. I recently downloaded the Spanish version of the workchart which has been useful.

Very informative, good, clear advice.

Look forward to using Sing-A-Long with our foundation stage children. We already love our rap and movement. Very entertaining, although we all have brain ache!

It was good to have a break between days in order to take everything on board and put it into practise. Sing-A-Long was great fun. Lively and fun presentation.

Excellent. Loads of information. Sing-A-Long looks great.

Found the course very informative and gave me lots of ideas of activities I could do with my group. It was good to go over some of the things we had covered on Day 1. Great course!

Refreshing and passionate display. Very informative with excellent explanation. Good to refresh on first course and assess your own achievement.

Food for thought. Interesting. Difficult to take it all in at once.

Interesting. Exhausting. Thought provoking (lots to take in in one day).

Brainstorm! It will be great to see our class move on and up through our school using what they have learnt with us. Great to have a daily wriggle to the upbeat rap music!

Very informative with help to develop own ideas and deliver lessons as well as using yours.

Very good. I really liked the Sing-A-Long CD and Interactive Book. Our children would enjoy this a lot!

Quite a lot of repetition to begin with in the morning (from first day session). New software looks very good – fun for the children.

Good course, great resources. Interactive. Well presented. Profilecard covered in both courses.

Excellent delivery. Appreciated the opportunity to consolidate knowledge of technical terms e.g. monophong etc. and further clarification of abbreviations/how to complete THRASS Profilecard. Training will help us to implement THRASS further.

Very informative day but repetitive. I understand that’s the ethos of teaching by rote, but it can come across as patronising at times.

Very helpful information provided to enable confident use of the scheme.

Good course with lots of ideas.

Morning session was much of a repetition of Day 1, but the afternoon session was much more useful and answered lots of my questions. New software looks good!

Delivery excellent, nice to see new resources being developed, e.g. Sing-A-Long. Plenty to think about and use. Clear picture of whole and good ideas of how THRASS can be used and cross referenced.

More to think about!

Good presentation, great resources. Liked the Sing-A-Long resources. As this was my first session, I think I needed some sections explained at a slower pace, but this wasn’t for the whole presentation.

I thought that the course was really useful. On the PGCE course we have very little Phonics training so have to rely entirely on observing good practice in school. For me, your pronunciation session was particularly useful as I have now been able to better distinguish between sounds. I found the course interesting, but would have liked more information on THRASS with upper KS2 and beyond, as I don’t believe the songs/raps etc. would be as effective.

Thanks for a very interesting and thought provoking day. This will move the school forward to meet the needs of the children.

Interesting – brain numbing at times! Encouraging that we are on the right tracks already. Lots of ‘tips for teachers’ which is what we as teachers are after.
