Excellent programme. Please meet with our Ministry of Education to discuss
this programme. I strongly believe that the THRASS programme can revolutionize
the way phonics is taught in our schools. What I find interesting is the
combination of Handwriting, Reading and Spelling skills. Finally, I love BIG
books. Great job Alan and Hilary. Cover the GLOBE!
This is by far one of the best courses I have ever been on. I will take it to my
school and I hope to see you in Trinidad next. The material was great and very
much hands on. Thank you.
Mind blowing break throughs. I feel lucky to have been part of this course, it
has been a fascinating and very exciting experience. I cannot wait to take it
back home. Very interactive and you both kept us focused for the two days. I
look forward to having you host a course in Trini soon. We’ll see!
A really interesting workshop. I have gained new insight into the THRASS
programme and would try to implement some (if not all) of the skills learnt,
upon returning home. It is my hope that the programme will be introduced in our
island in the near future. Thanks for an interesting two day workshop.
The course was very informative and packed with new information based on
phonics. I now intend to change the way I teach the letters. I enjoyed the
sessions everyday.
It was very educational. I enjoyed every moment of it. I could sit for the whole
week and never get tired.
Doing this course a second time around has caused me to understand the key
concepts more fully and it has answered unanswered questions. It has given me
more confidence to apply the techniques that were taught. It has given me more
enthusiasm to implement THRASS at the Centre and privately. I appreciate the
opportunity and privilege I had to see a revolutionary way to teach phonics.
Look forward to taking part in any further courses that may come up.
Truly revolutionary. If this course could be done with all the personnel at my
school that are the “key players” in education, my students would have HOPE.
This approach makes learning fun. I believe the activity will make it exciting
and maintain children’s interest. I will be using this approach with my own
child. Thank you Alan and Hilary for your investment and commitment to the
World’s children.
I enjoyed the course. This is too difficult to learn over the internet, yet
quite easy to grasp when explained in person. I am also grateful for the large
book and the workbooks as they are very detailed in the order of approach.
The course was very informative and exciting. I learnt a lot and my
understanding grew, especially about things I had misunderstood. I enjoyed the
different resources used and I will definitely take this new knowledge I have
gained to my classroom. Also the presenters were well organized and friendly.
This was a wonderful introduction to the world of English, packed with that
exceptional and often excluded component – common sense. The question remains:
WHEN will THRASS be introduced as a foundation to all language work (English,
Spanish and French) in Barbadian Schools?
