GUIDED TRAINING FOR TEACHERS, ASSISTANTS AND PARENTS

THRASS TWO-DAY CERTIFICATE,
WESTERN CAPE, SA, JAN 28-29, 2010

Portable Document Format

Thanks for all your hard work. You were both very inspiring. I cannot wait to implement this with my Grade R class. You have given me so many ideas, I don’t think I will sleep this weekend. Wonderful.

Enormous amount of extremely valuable information. Very well presented. Excellent programme.

Good presentation by Hilary and Laola. It was really refreshing. Go well and all success.

Very thorough. An excellent course presented in an excellent manner – with excellent explanations!

Very informative, insightful and well presented. Resources were well used.

Very knowledgeable presenters and very well presented.

Stunning course, very informative!

Very insightful and useful. Concise and complete. A good balance of theory and practical work.

A very informative, helpful course. I am introducing THRASS in my Grade this year and this course has given me the confidence to teach it, as well as the tools to use in the class.

An enriching two days. Absolutely wonderful.

Tremendous. I wish I had done it before starting to teach THRASS last year. Both presenters were most enthusiastic and competent. The more often we hear all this info, the more it becomes a way of life and steeped into one’s thoughts. I feel more excited about teaching English at the age of 60 than ever before – I am rearing to go.

Most informative and inspiring.

A well worth it course! Great – as I haven’t taught Foundation Phase before. Very innovative and shows great new teaching methodology – leaving behind old school phonics teaching.

Very thorough. I especially appreciated the games ideas. Lots of teaching methodology ideas, too, which will be very useful in the implementation of the programme.

Stimulating and informative. I have learnt so much and look forward to implementing THRASS.

An interesting course. Good to see where we are and what we can improve on.

I feel a lot more confident about teaching THRASS in my class. Have a greater understanding. It was very informative and makes teaching reading, writing and spelling more fun.

Well planned. I learnt quite a lot and feel that this method of teaching phonics makes more sense.

A wonderful approach to teaching reading and spelling. A lot to take in and engage with, but I look forward to attempting to teach the THRASS way.

An excellent, interesting course. Bringing literacy alive. Very progressive, with so many resources. Thank you both for your enthusiasm!

I am excited to go back to school and implement everything I’ve learnt from this ‘refresher’ course.

It has been very interesting. I’m really going to try and import this into my school.

Very enjoyable, learnt a lot. Would like to attend a workshop more focussed on Intermediate Phase.

Great course. Really eye-opening, great product for a country such as South Africa, where literacy is low. I love the SING-A-LONG songs and I’m sure that the class will, too! I am really excited to see the children learn THRASS and how they will develop in years to come.

Really enjoyable. Exceptionally interesting and valuable. Well presented. Very well organised.

Brilliant course! I’ve learnt so much over the two days, which will be very useful in the classroom. The stages were well presented, with many examples practically demonstrated.
