GUIDED TRAINING FOR TEACHERS, ASSISTANTS AND PARENTS

THRASS ONE-DAY FOUNDATION,
LAMBETH, LONDON,  JAN 4, 2010

Portable Document Format

Course helped me greatly in the application of the THRASS Programme. I had used ‘Letters and Sounds’ and ‘Jolly Phonics’ before, and was aware of certain phonics principles, but THRASS seems a much more logical and concise scheme and I look forward to further implementing it in my lessons.

Very informative and well-presented.

I really enjoyed the THRASS training today. Hilary was very good at demonstrating and teaching.

Very good course. Very good for some low-reading children. Also useful for special needs children, who have problems with pronunciation of words/text.

Excellent help in THRASS. Greatly helps me for my motor skills group and class.

Enjoyable and useful training. Even applicable with the oldest children.

Very informative.

Really useful and I could definitely see how valuable this would be working with my groups.

Really good refresher. Nice to be reminded what each stage leads on to the next. Introduction to software was brief, but useful. Overwrite sheets could be bigger for Early Years handwriting ability?

A thorough and in-depth grounding into phonics and how to teach it through THRASS Scheme. I teach the very oldest children and struggled to see how I might fit THRASS into my teaching whole class, as I have a lot of able children, with one small group of less able.

Helpful in understanding the programme and in particular how to integrate the interactive software into the teaching.

Very useful – loads of info and tips. Quite a lot of information to take in, but will become clearer when put into practice.

Very well-presented. Good visual aids.

Good – more clarification for teaching in the Early Years. Found the assessment sheets quite complex to interpret. Good to revisit system.

Very useful to go over this again – Thanks!

Having already been trained before in 2008, this was a very useful refresher course. Thought-provoking for the KS2 children I work with.

Very informative. I feel now able to get started.

An informative day, great resources and some good ideas on how to implement THRASS in the classroom.

Very good. I enjoyed it.

Informative. Good refresher. Very enjoyable. Good ideas.
