Very interesting. I am enthusiastic and excited to start implementing such a

Wow! Thank you for two intense and jam-packed days. The metacognitive aspects
are the most powerful. The explicit cognitive aspects are so empowering for
teachers and children. The fact that the same programme is used from Gr 0 to
Matric is so real and reinforces the skills that need to be carried from year to
year.
We have learned all that we wanted to learn and so much more. Teachers are able
to go forward with in-depth knowledge of THRASS. Laola’s enthusiasm is
infectious. Our teachers cannot wait to begin. Thank you for your patience and
your willingness to explain or digress when necessary.

Lovely course. Learnt so much, will use the programme in my class. I am sure all
areas will improve, especially speaking, reading and spelling.
A very informative, refreshing approach to Literacy, done by an inspirational
lecturer. Perhaps instead of so much time spent on the lips and different
sounds, we could have been shown different resources and ways to use them.
Very worthwhile course which inspired me to want to try it. Would like to have a
practical session per grade to see how we can start it in a specific grade. We
would love to have follow-up sessions.

The facilitator, Laola, was enthusiastic and well versed in her knowledge and
presentation of the course. As a Grade 4 educator, doing this course has
empowered me to understand how reading, writing and spelling the THRASS way is
taught in the junior phase. This will enable me to carry the method through to
the Grade 4’s. It is a brilliant and easy way of teaching learners the basic
skills of language. I will also apply the THRASS method to teaching my
grandchildren!
Laola obviously knows the product well and her enthusiasm is contagious. I had
an introduction elsewhere so I did have expectations that were met. I learnt a
lot more and feel more confident to use it.
