GUIDED TRAINING FOR TEACHERS, ASSISTANTS AND PARENTS

THRASS ONE-DAY FOUNDATION,
STAFFORDSHIRE, JAN 15, 2007

Portable Document Format

A super day. Phonics finally makes sense! The resources are fantastic and I can’t wait to start using them in the classroom with the children from Reception up to Y6.

A brilliant resource and I now understand the basics of phonics. The THRASS resources are very logical and colourful and should provide our children with a lifelong skill to read, write and spell correctly.

Phonemes and graphemes make sense now! Super ideas to use for KS2 children. I am looking forward to introducing it to the children. Would love to do Day 2.

An excellent introduction to THRASS with a great bunch of resources to share and a great input from Alan. As I work within Rec/Y1, I feel this will be an important part of their teaching and learning.

Very useful and informative. A super way to teach and implement phonics into school.

Very informative and interesting. Shown things which weren’t known. Would very much like Day 2!

Extremely informative. Very well presented in an enjoyable manner. An awful lot of work was covered in one day. Excellent. Look forward to next day.

Highly interesting and eye-opening. Will certainly use what I have learned with my S.E.N. and S.A.L.T children. I will anticipate rapid understanding of phonics. Why didn’t we have it years ago!

Very informative and interesting. Will enjoy putting it into practice.

It was very good and would be good with Rec/Y1.

A very good day. Very useful information that I can start using tomorrow! On task all day – although the last hour was more tiring (as my brain had overloaded), would love a repeat inset day!

Really useful information knowing all about keyword phonics and knowing the meanings of the different phrases and how to use them. Also, to help the children understand the phonics.

Thank you Alan for an excellent, informative and highly stimulating day. THRASS has offered a common platform for the language and phonics in school and salvation for the non-specialist KS2 practices. I think that, with support, this will enable our children to become confident and literate individuals.

Very interesting. Made sense to get rid of tricky words, irregular spelling etc. and teach the sounds and letter names together. Resources for phonics look good. Very good for speaking and listening skills too. It does seem to go through all the key stages unlike other schemes. Sounds and music seems great fun to encourage all children to enjoy and join in phonics.

Found the course and materials useful and logical. Can see how they could be used successfully with progression in phonics materials already in use across the school. I thought the interactive and musical elements very stimulating. Can’t wait to implement with my children.

A very interesting and informative day. It was very enjoyable.

An enjoyable day which really did help to see where improvements can be made in coaching children whatever age or educational need.

Fantastic! Makes so much sense – thank you! Excellent resources. I feel confident to start tomorrow.

A really useful day Alan. Thank you so much for the high energy and informative day. Split digraphs finally make sense! I have a greater understanding of how to help my children and where I would like to see our school going in relation to the teaching of phonics.

Wonderful. Precise information. A program that I want to take on board. On task all day – a first for a one-day course! Want to start this tomorrow! Hope to get Head to get you in for a whole school inset.
