GUIDED TRAINING FOR TEACHERS, ASSISTANTS AND PARENTS

THRASS TWO-DAY CERTIFICATE,
GTG, SOUTH AFRICA, JAN 11-13, 2007

Portable Document Format

This was enlightening and exciting. It made me aware of many more ways of teaching children to read, spell and write. It is going to encourage me to be even more creative in my teaching. I would like every child to reach his/her full potential.

A very comprehensive course, presented thoroughly and professionally. Thanks Laola.

Dynamic presentation. Makes remarkable sense in terms of sounds – phonetics etc. especially from a Speech Therapist’s viewpoint. Great way to integrate visual and auditory. Excellent practical illustration, enthusiastic – maintaining interest.

Very beneficial and insightful – definitely the way to go. The course was well organised and structured, very enjoyable and pleasant, well delivered. Will definitely recommend THRASS to all teachers and fellow colleagues.

Interesting, different approach and lots of integration with a great variety of teaching aids. Vibrant. Children will participate spontaneously and will be inspired to explore even further. Thank you!

Laola is a brilliant and enthusiastic instructor with a complete understanding and support of THRASS as a language teaching tool. The venue was conducive to learning, the material and the class size.

Great, Thanks.

Very informative (not only in reading, but also other related areas.) All I need now is to practise, practise, practise! Really enjoyable.

Very enlightening course. I will have to make a paradigm shift, but I am sure it will be worth it in a short while. Laola does her job well. She is energetic and very motivating. I am excited about this new challenge.

The course provided a lot of interesting information and helped to explain the THRASS programme. It’s a great help to learn something new that can assist our pupils. I found some aspects of the presentation confusing due to having to review our previous methods of teaching. It would have helpful to have more practical application of the programme. In theory, the programme sounds as if would work well in the classroom, but I am uncertain as to how to go about it, where to begin and end in one year.

Very interesting. System seems to be very well planned and should make a difference if well implemented. Laola is a dynamic speaker and presented everything with vigour. The cost will be an inhibiting factor, but otherwise we look forward to an exciting year.

Interesting, but sometimes things were not always clear, especially on how to implement it into the Grade 0 situation. Perhaps not very exciting for smaller children.

Interesting – Challenging. Very good presentation. Your enthusiasm is catching. I enjoyed learning a new system and look forward to implementing it in class. Thank you for sharing your expertise.

Mindshift – making me question my own pronunciation and thinking. Looking forward to implementing it, especially with regards to improving spelling, as I was feeling quite despondent. Laola has fantastic energy and enthusiasm, explained really well and has excellent knowledge of subject matter.
