This has revolutionised my thinking towards the teaching of reading, spelling
and phonics. It will be very useful in assisting the children who attend my
support centre.
Well done. Well prepared, interesting, enthusiastic presentation by Laola. I
feel informed and motivated to start this program in my class.
It was fantastic to be presented with such a logical and comprehensive
methodology. The fact that everyone at the school will be using the same system
is ideal. The course was interesting and stimulating. I look forward to
implementing THRASS this year. I have also worked as a remedial teacher and am
very interested to see the results with the children who experience problems. I
have a number in my class for this year, and can’t wait to see their progress.
This is what I have been trying to get across to so many kids in over ten years
of working with auditory disorders and subsequent literacy problems. Now
everything has a place and a plan.
An excellent course. Very informative and interesting. Many thought–provoking
ideas were given. This was a very “user-friendly” format. Practical ideas given.
I feel that this is a worthwhile course to attend. I will definitely be
implementing this strategy in my classroom.
I found this course to be most interesting! It was very well presented by Laola
who appears to have boundless energy and is very passionate about this
methodology. I only wish my own children were a little younger and had benefited
from this from the reception stage.
The THRASS course has been a wonderful way of emphasising that each alphabet
letter does not only make one speech sound or phoneme as Letterland (forgive
me!) does tend to do. Spelling of junior school learners is horrendous, I feel,
due to poor foundations, which we can now change!
Very good and well worth the wait!
Very informative and enriching. Can’t wait to start rapping and tapping.
Well presented and good content.
A very interesting and inspiring course. A fun and innovative method.
Worthwhile, well presented. Looking forward to using in the classroom.
This has been a wonderful experience. I definitely feel that this is the correct
way in teaching literacy. I am sure that this will solve many problem areas and
confusion with pupils trying to spell. Laola was a vibrant seminar leader. Thank
you for the experience.
Very stimulating. I feel excited to implement THRASS in my classroom, even
though I am nervous to. I know that I will become more confident as I teach
using THRASS. Very well done!
Timing was a bit awkward - teachers had lots to do before the next day. Course
very good.
Very informative and will be refreshing and exciting when implemented in the
classroom. Visual aids were good and helped with understanding. Very good.
Well presented and informative. However, lacking in different approaches to
learning, no direct discovery teaching.
Very interesting and makes a lot of sense. Well presented. Will definitely
implement in my class.
Very interesting, stimulating. A new fun way to learn to read and spell. Very
exciting. Will definitely apply. Equipment very useful, colourful, durable and
useful.
Very interesting and informative. Well presented with many stimulating ideas.
Very worthwhile practical and user-friendly. I shall definitely utilize this
knowledge in my classroom.
The act of evaluating the WHAT and HOW of teaching English, has stimulated me to
carefully look ahead and to be positive about a new approach. Hopefully I’ll
master THRASS effectively and soon. What a wonderful presentation - good use and
marketing of an excellent product by an interesting and interested presenter.
Very worthwhile - enthusiastically presented. This methodology makes very good
sense.
