This was a really valuable day. We were given
an excellent explanation of all aspects of THRASS teaching. The ideas for games
to play to involve THRASS in the classroom were great – thankyou.
Excellent presentation, enthusiastic, informative and stimulating.

I thought the course was well organised and it was nice to see somebody so

This was an extremely informative day, which was clearly structured to show the
way in which THRASS can be used effectively and the progression throughout the
school. It will have an impact on my teaching in literacy and throughout other

Vry informative. Lots of interaction. I came for a refresher and it was
surprising how much I’d forgotten. I use the THRASS handwriting in the Nursery
but hopefully my colleague and I will be able to implement much more.
I learnt lots but I don’t think I would currently use more than T1, 2 and 3. I
would like the overwriting sheet to be twice the size of lettering as it is very
small for children just beginning to write.

I have come away with lots of ideas for introducing THRASS but fewer for using
with Y4 who know the chart but don’t make enough use of it. I’d have liked an
overview at the start of the ‘final aim’. I also think that the amount of
talking while Hilary was presenting indicates that people needed discussion time
– on how to use ideas in class or whole school issues. Many thanks. I found it

ideas to take THRASS across the curriculum and involve it in playground
activities. Lots of short, sharp games to fill gaps but linked to teaching the
handwriting grids to help letter formation.
