GUIDED TRAINING FOR TEACHERS, ASSISTANTS AND PARENTS

THRASS ONE-DAY COURSE,
LUTON, JAN 3, 2006

Portable Document Format

(Secondary Special School)

Excellent! A wide range of resources for teaching!

It was very interesting to see how complex linguistics can be integrated in the National Curriculum. It also caters for different learning styles which will be very useful in Special Needs Education.

The course was very interesting. It highlighted a lot of useful resources, especially CD ROM.

Very interesting and informative. Well presented but too much for one day.

Very good aspect which can be transferred into my class. Very valuable in mainstream classes, too.

Very informative. Well-presented speaker able to respond to questions.

Found some parts very useful and saw how I incorporate them into teaching. I even found parts useful for verbal patterns and skills.

Very informative. We will definitely implement some of the ideas that you have suggested. Thanks.

Some of the materials are good – it will be useful in the classroom. The day would have benefited from some more activities to try out using the materials.

Some good points. I like the blends – not too sure about picture boxes – this could be a little challenging in special school (SLD). Very good in mainstream.

It was interesting, but found sitting for the whole time difficult!

It was interesting but I feel the course could have been condensed into half a day.

Very good, interesting.

A very useful course that helped me to think again about my literacy teaching.

Good revision. Useful for about 20% of school. Would not be applicable for many PMLD.

A very useful course.

Some interesting ideas.

Good for use in class for about 25% but not very useful for PMLD.

Very well delivered. Full of very practical ideas.

I found the tutor very enthusiastic and for the most I kept up with her because of the low level of my class (they do not know their alphabet) I don’t think at this time it will be useful. We do use the THRASS Raps which they enjoy but they cannot recognise the letters.

The course was very interesting and covered all aspects of teaching different phonemes to words.

I found the course very informative and learnt a lot about THRASS and how it can be taught.

Very informative and useful. Thankyou.

Very interesting and useful.

Very informative. A new lease of life for THRASS.

Very informative. Well presented.

Very useful course. Presented well. More interaction may be useful (audience).

Very good.

Not particularly relevant for the pupils we work with. Can see effective maybe 20%. Good mainstream.

A very good, informative course which, hopefully, can be used with the needs of the children.

A very informative and useful course which will be useful for the students.
