I thoroughly enjoyed the course but did find it a huge amount of information –
the mind boggles! It would be a good idea to have a follow-up to enable us to
deal with questions and implementation difficulties. I hope you’ll be able to
come and do the training for our staff later this year.

Although it was an information overload, it was presented in such a manner that
I hardly noticed it! This course was just another example of how the course
presenter/speaker can make or break a presentation and in this case Mr. Davies
was absolutely great! THRASS is such a phenomenal programme that I have no idea
how I learned to read, write or spell!
Good to now know what THRASS was all about. Very well presented, sometimes a
little bit too fast for me as an Afrikaans person, but still very informative.
This is an excellent program and I enjoyed the presentation. Would have loved to

I found the course most informative. It’s an eye-opening introduction to
spelling, reading and learning in all areas. I am excited to use/implement my
new knowledge in a practical way in the classroom. As a mother, I am also
excited about introducing my child from the start to this fantastic approach to
literacy. Thankyou – it was most enjoyable.
Alan – as I said to you, I’m so pleased you have developed a tool for me to
teach the way my gut said I should. Although this (THRASS) is more extensive
than I had in mind it is based on the same idea I had because my phonics system
failed me as a child.

An exciting new way to teach, implement and assess children of all ages to read,
write and spell with diverse understanding. It’s definitely a new approach to an
old system. Extremely intense and informative in so many ways. I would prefer to
be trained over more than two days. Some of the terminology will take some
getting used to.

I want to know if THRASS can be translated/done in Afrikaans? I would like to be
involved in much a project. A really good course. Well done! This was an
absolute eye-opener. A lot of it makes more sense now. To have this course in
Afrikaans will be a huge “gift” to South Africans of all ages and cultures.

Interesting: different perspective. Witty, bit long, entertaining. Would have
liked more in the way of what to do with my particular age group, e.g. my grade
