Portable Document Format

Exhilarating! I am so excited about it and can’t wait to implement it in my classroom one day! It makes so much sense to me and I really believe that THRASS is going to transform our education system! Laola was a complete breath of fresh air and I thoroughly enjoyed her two day workshop! Thank you for all your time and effort! I feel even more empowered as a teacher!

Very informative and understandable! It has been broken down in detail and very accurately so as to understand it! This new way of teaching handwriting, reading and spelling skills is very different to the way we learned but it is a much more useful and detailed way of learning!

An enlightening course, much was gained! I look forward to teaching THRASS in my own classroom one day! Wonderful resources. Fun, hard work and understandable!

Laola was very professional and I thoroughly enjoyed her explanations and examples! The materials received were fantastic! This course will be helpful in my teaching in the future!

This has been a very knowledgeable experience which every teacher would enjoy! It is conductive to learning and uses innovative methodologies to inculcate a culture of reading in our society! I have personally gained a lot from this experience!

Very enlightening! It was fun, exciting and interesting. We did learn a lot and know that this is very useful and vital information we will be using in our future teaching careers! This is a fun programme and I can’t wait to pass what I have learned to the younger generations.

Hugely informative, practical and enlightening. I am very excited at the prospect of implementing the knowledge and skills! A powerful new way to learn phonics! Laola was excellent and very articulate and a dynamic spokesperson for the THRASS learning programme! I do hope that THRASS will take foot nationwide in the schools of South-Africa!

A dynamic and insightful presentation by Laola! If only we were trained in the THRASS programme years ago! The holistic and analytical approach of this programme makes it a tool for success in literacy, especially in a school such as mine where language of teaching and learning is different from the home language! Thank you Laola for a wonderful presentation! Thank you Alan Davies for sharing this knowledge with us! NAPTOSA KZN is proud to be a small part of promoting this outstanding programme in KZN!

Laola was very knowledgeable! She was patient and answered all question thoroughly! Each stage was explained in great details including evaluation and assessment. The workshop was also fun and entertaining, Laola’s prior knowledge and its integration of THRASS was useful and enlightening!

Very interesting and beneficial! It is cleverly constructed and appealing in the sense that I will ensure teaching literacy is more effective and fun! I learned many things and was challenged in my thinking! I feel that the children will be receiving more from this programme!

Very interesting. This course was interactive and helped me gain a better understanding of what THRASS is all about! I was comfortable to ask questions, at anytime, if I did not understand! Laola made the course fun and easy to understand! I am now excited and looking forward to teaching THRASS! Thank you so much for a wonderful course, I enjoyed it!

Presented very well! Laola was very well prepared and any questions were answered clearly and thoroughly! Very interesting but at the same time very exhausting! A few more games or activities that are hands on would be nice! I learned a lot, brilliant course!

Laola did a fantastic presentation, she was vibrant and informative! I gained much insight into using THRASS at school and I feel empowered to teach my second language learners!

Interesting and informative! I learned a lot about THRASS, things I did not know before attending this course! I now feel excited about teaching THRASS!

Interesting and interactive and I thoroughly enjoyed it! The course helped us understand both the theory involved and how to apply it to the resources presented to us, which are wonderful!

Very interesting as every little piece fits into to a huge puzzle called English! It was relevant to us as aspiring teachers. We firstly need to know the correct way of teaching the English language and obviously speaking it! Laola was a great presenter and teacher! It was a lot of information to digest at one ‘go’ but the lady in charge was very understanding and fun!

Fun and interesting! It was a very interactive course but there was too much information to take in for the short time! If the workshop was a little longer this would have been appreciated! The THRASS approach to teaching was very unique and explained well!

Interesting and I now have a greater understanding of THRASS! I am now looking forward to teaching this when I go out to schools and also learning for myself! Thank you to Laola for making it exciting and interesting for us!

Most helpful to me as a practicing teacher! I really enjoyed this workshop! I know that it will help me in the future! We as practicing teachers really needed this introduction to THRASS!

Very beneficial to me as an ECD/Foundation Phase student teacher! I am pleased to be given resources needed to start me engaging in THRASS! The course was interesting and fun!

Was very exciting and interesting and I think it will work wonderfully with learners!

It was a very enlightening, interesting and captivating course. I look forward to implementing the THRASS programme once I am a full on qualified teacher!

Extremely enlightening! I also strongly believe in not having a reading scheme! Learners borrow books from the municipal libraries and by learning the THRASS method they will have no learning problems. This programme was intensive and I am pleased because all areas are dealt with in details e.g. training, evaluation and assessment! I would like to be exposed to more workshops though. I feel learners will thoroughly enjoy this interactive approach to THRASS!

Very interesting and informative, as I was placed in a school that used THRASS! I now have a foundation of knowledge of THRASS and how it works! The only thing that I found was that the two days was not enough! The course should be about five days! I have enjoyed the two days and believe that THRASS should be implementing in all schools in South-Africa!

The presenter was lively, happy and new exactly what she was talking about. She was organised, helpful and could answer any questions that were asked! I found the THRASS programme very beneficial and very well thought about!

I certainly know a lot more about THRASS now! Laola was energetic and friendly and was able to explain in detail all the elements of this way of teaching! I now see how the old phonic method of teaching literacy does not affectively teach learners how to read and write!

Very interesting; it makes a lot of sense as to how to teach the alphabet, phonemes and graphemes! I think it is a brilliant idea and I hope that it will take off in South-Africa and that all schools will make use of it!

An enjoyable, informative course which provided me with knowledge that built upon my prior knowledge of THRASS and literacy! I now know the theory behind the implementation and structuring of work in the schooling system! It is never too late to learn!

Very interesting and the information I have received will now help me to skill the learners in my school more effectively. Laola’s performance and presentation was clear and enjoyable! Looking forward to teaching in my class now!

Laola was dynamic and that the THRASS program well researched. I am looking forward to teaching and using it in my school! However we need more training, the two day workshop is not enough!
