THRASS FOLLOW-UP COURSE,
KZN, SOUTH AFRICA, FEB 4, 2009

Excellent. Great training and inspiration. Well done – you can be proud of the difference you are making in South Africa – I salute you!

I loved the humour! The acting! It always puts the “point across”. Informative. Helped put a lot of things into perspective. Learned a lot.

Very informative. Very interesting. Very motivating. Good interaction. Loved it.

A very informative course – refreshing with new ideas! Thoroughly enjoyed the presentation and the information.

Brilliant! Interesting and easy to understand, great ideas to use. Humorous!

This was a great course – inspiring, interesting and informative!

Great!

A man sent from Heaven. Great course – I will follow the scheme ‘15 minutes’ each morning and 15 minutes each afternoon – enjoying THRASS! Learnt so much. Refreshed.

THRASS always seemed like a Foundation Phase area of focus, but “helpful” for Senior/Intermediate Phase. As much as I wanted to understand and use it, it was “just too hard and big”. Thank you for totally decoding it and being wonderfully entertaining.

Wonderful. Inspirational. Need you for the Parents’ Course! Love “Get off the stage!” Amazing how THRASS is getting into underprivileged schools. We love implementing it in our school.

Great to have a “recap” – reassuring that I am on the right track. Also great to clarify areas that I was not sure of.

Interesting. Informative. Exciting – eager to go and implement the ideas.

Exciting. Encouraging. Informative.

You really gave us the tools and confidence to continue with the teaching of THRASS. I enjoyed your relaxed delivery and inspirational enthusiasm.

Wonderful. Can’t wait to get back to school and get the children singing!

An absolute eye-opener. It really helped to fill in the gaps of my understanding of THRASS. Had lots of fun.

Truly summed up the whole of the THRASS programme in one afternoon. Gave great ideas on how to teach THRASS using all the resources – not being restricted to limited resources. Fantastic!

Very informative. Didn’t really understand THRASS, making it difficult to teach and incorporate into the classroom. Feel more confident to try now!

Fantastic! Just what I needed. So glad that I have heard you at last. Thank you for your enthusiasm and passion for THRASS.

Answered so many questions. Excellent.

It was wonderful and enlightening, as always.

I am now more eager and a little bit more confident with trying to teach THRASS.

Wonderful. Cleared up so many questions and uncertainties. Good refresher and also settling worries that I’m not doing what I’m supposed to do!

Helpful to pull “vague” ideas together. Muddled understanding was rectified – great to hear from the expert, as initial training felt unsatisfactory. Would like more discussion amongst those who are now three years down the line to find out what others do to build on the programme creatively at more advanced level (e.g. Grade 4 teaching).

Very informative. Been great to see ideas and get suggestions (especially now that I’m familiar with THRASS).

Speaker dynamic and very passionate about subject. Generated excitement to get going. Welcomed problems and queries. Enjoyed it and found it very worthwhile!

Great to be reminded of the “big picture” again – inspiring!

Absolutely great!

Entertaining – lovely to recap and learn more. We need to brush up after a while!

Excellent. After a day of teaching, I felt quite tired. Alan was so enthusiastic and entertaining! I got loads of new ideas and am so excited to get back to my class to implement them. Please call again!

Wow! I feel much more confident and have a much better idea of how to teach certain things. So much to take in, but very encouraging! I am excited to get my hands on the SING-A-LONG resources! A great course. I am very excited to start implementing all the new ideas.

I feel so excited. I have always enjoyed THRASS and now I have new ideas. I feel more relaxed, because I know that I have been doing the right thing. It’s a blessing for me to see my learners improving each month. THRASS has truly liberated so many of them. Alan, you are awesome. I am going to learn Cued Speech to teach deaf learners. My father is deaf, but has a hearing aid so he can hear. I just want to use THRASS to help as many learners as I can.

Very helpful. You made a lot of sense, Alan. Well done. Thank you for all your hard work. You have helped and will continue to help children throughout the world. As you said, reading and spelling improve intellect, confidence and social skills. Congratulations. Let’s celebrate!
