Portable Document Format

A most informative training session presented in a dynamic way. I have learnt a great deal and have been given much to think about. The children will benefit greatly from what has been shown to me!

Laola was very passionate and enthusiastic. She is also well spoken and presented the course very well. I really enjoyed the two day course and found it to be comprehensive and I now have a good understanding of THRASS. Thank you, what a fantastic phonics programme!

Very informative, exciting program for kids to learn! The training was exciting and very knowledgeable. Learnt a lot, can’t wait to use these new methods of teaching with our kids. I hope and wish all teachers could get the opportunity to learn THRASS.

Fantastic. There is so much to take in and so much to take away with us and pass on to our learners. Laola is a fantastic speaker and her enthusiasm and confidence in this THRASS programme is evident in her presentation.

Wow! Will need to get the entire school on board! This will mean workshops with our entire staff. It just makes so much sense!

Excellent. It was stimulating and motivating. It provided much insight into the development of language in children. I really am excited to see it growing within our school. There was much practical advice given.

Excellent, absolutely brilliant! I am a bit overwhelmed but looking forward to implementing in my class. I just wish my colleagues were all here, so we can all be on board!

Very well presented; Great use of aids and material; Comprehensive coverage of subject material; Trainer very approachable and has excellent knowledge of subject and product; Inspiring and exciting concepts and method of teaching!

Very interesting, but challenging as this was my first encounter with the programme. Laola is a lovely and knowledgeable facilitator who made everything interesting. We were taken through the programme step by step and were encouraged to participate. I thoroughly enjoyed learning about THRASS and will pass the information on to my principal!

Laola is brilliant! She knows THRASS to the bone and has lots of experience in teaching. She is able to motivate and encourage us. She explained everything very well and I am eager to start using THRASS. She was very well organised, good examples and humour. The course was very pleasant and interesting. Enough room for questions!

Very interesting and clear programme. We will implement THRASS in our after-school educational program. I love the easy to use teaching materials and believe our kids see they all have a different background! They will definitely benefit from this method!

An enlightening experience with a very vibrant instructor. I will be taking back a lot of information and will most definitely be implementing these ideas in my lessons. I would definitely recommend that the other teachers in my school attend a course such as this.

Very interesting and informative. The information was made clear and there was good interactive involvement. It clearly showed that teachers would have to change their mind set and ways of teaching spelling and methods. There was lots of information given and aspects covered during the course. Very intriguing ideas!

Excellent, informative, relevant, insightful and exciting! Excellent, definitely logical and easy to understand! Assimilate and see ways of implementation. This could be the answer to so many language and spelling problems for first and second language learners. Has any research been done on pre and post THRASS learners? I would be interested in possibly doing so!

A very interesting two days, the time flew by! I am keen to try THRASS but at this moment in time am a little unsure about where and how to start but I am prepared to give it ago should our school decide to use it! It was well presented and most worthwhile.

Very interesting, well presented and an extremely knowledgeable speaker! Looking forward to doing THRASS in my class and using this lovely, bright equipment! Many thanks for two days well spent!

Very interesting! Good to see and learn a new approach which gets the children to explore and use thinking skills which involve divergent thinking skills. Lovely and interactive! Colourful and very stimulating! (Good for the modern day child) Like learning to drive again for me!

Presenter: well organised, knows her topics, lively understanding and patient! Course: Very informative with sufficient teaching material. Enjoyed myself!

I enjoyed it! Laola was great and accommodating, looking forward to implementing whatever I can!

Very interesting and enlightening. I found THRASS to be a very interesting way to look at teaching English as well as understanding how English is spoken. It has also been helpful with instructing how phonemes are to be pronounced!

Very informative and I have learnt a lot more. The things I experienced difficulty with I now have greater understanding. The facilitator was excellent! She explained things well and answered all question with confidence!

A very informative course! Laola was very pleasant and easy to listen to. She made sure that we completely understood at every stage. All the course material is of a very high standard, easy to work with and appealing to the children. This course inspired me to try lots of new things when teaching THRASS and I am looking forward to using what I have learnt to enrich my teaching of THRASS in the classroom. Thanks for a very worthwhile two days!

I found the course most fascinating and fruitful. I cannot wait to implement THRASS to our current grade 4’s. Thank you for your wonderful input.

I thoroughly enjoyed the course and learnt a great deal. Laola was most informative and made the course very interesting and interactive. I am looking forward to carrying THRASS through grade 4 and seeing the learning continuation from grade 3. Thank you very much for the opportunity to teach an old dog new tricks!

Very informative information, given clearly! Friendly facilitator. I feel like a light has switched on, Useful system to use with the children!

Fantastic and I have learnt a lot! Laola was very good with the presenting! I will go back to my class with more insight and feel confident with THRASS. It was my first course.

I have been using some of the THRASS methods for the past few months with a certain amount of success. I now feel more competent in my approach. I am so excited to see that so many of my previous approaches are used in THRASS. I am keen to get this going in my department and guide my colleagues. I found the course informative, interactive and enriching. The presenter is so energetic and full of good ideas. I appreciate her wisdom and enjoyed her sharing of her experiences. Thank you for this exciting course on the THRASS method of teaching literacy skills.

Very informative and comprehensive. The contents were covered at a decent speed and were explained thoroughly. It has taken the written word in the manuals and the reality, and combined the two! Mrs Altschul was patient, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I thoroughly enjoyed the contents and the presenter.

Very interesting and informative time. It has stretched the brain and given food for thought. It would be nice if the font was interchangeable as it also has to match in with the schools handwriting policy. I would like to spend the money on getting programmes the one can print of for a class instead of each child having to buy their own material (or school) I would like to have more direction on how to implement it in the phase beginning with grade 1.

I really enjoyed the two day course. I wish I was exposed to a program like this when I was in school! I am very excited to get into my class with all the new exciting and teachable info I got. I love the extra material my children will love too! Thank you Laola you were fantastic, God Bless!

Very informative, Laola was very dynamic and keen about THRASS. She was very excited about the program and has made me very enthusiastic. It was a practical and hands on course. It taught me a lot and gave me good insight into the program.

A lot to think about in a short space of time! I am most excited and would be nervous but quite willing to try. It is a huge mind set change, but a good one. Thanks for the chance to change. A very well presented and informative course!

Really enjoyed the course! Made me look at the way I hear sounds and speak. Laola worked through the program in a systematically way and felt much better equipped by the end of the second day.

Very interesting and enriching! Enjoyable. Perhaps more clarification on where to begin in each grade - a guideline. We could be given a copy or e-mail of an example of how another school implemented it according to grade or phase.

Very interesting! At first very overwhelming but eye opening!

Quite interesting and offered several new approaches to teaching literacy.

Very informative. Cleared up many misconceptions, material was all relevant and user friendly, Laola knew her subject matter exceptionally well.

Very well presented but too much content was covered in such a short time, some people can’t concentrate! I can see the value of the programme. Laola was well versed on the subject matter and could answer all the questions.

Most entertaining and informative. It was able to integrate a total spectrum of the knowledge required by the pupil in terms of spelling, writing and reading. The combination was of particular interest. Placing these in appropriate areas gave meaning to the programme.

Very enlightening! Well worth attending. I feel very excited about getting started. Laola was delightful! She is extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic.

A very informative course, which will allow me to have a good starting point in the implementation and teaching of THRASS! Laola was very helpful in answering multiple questions, which helped cleared unanswered questions and confusions. A worth while course!
