THE NETHERLANDS, APRIL 2-3, 2007

An outstanding course that has now made everything to do with THRASS so much clearer and totally understandable. After completing this course with the ‘whole team’ we have now been given the confidence and skills to move forward in our teaching of the children in our school. Thank you so very much, excellent.

This is by far, one of the best taught, most value classes that I’ve participated in. I was not familiar with THRASS when I began teaching it. I really got a great deal from the two days! Full of plenty of ideas for use in the classroom for children both young and old. I would have preferred more time for consolidation between sessions in order to absorb the masses of information, but appreciate this is not really practical in terms of time. Lots of food for thought, good delivery – like the resources – fast but lively pace. Some decisions to be made as a whole school now, in terms of where we go from here. Thank you very much for the two days!

The presentation of the course was excellent – really valuable to see the full potential of resources we already have. However, it was a lot of information in a short space of time and I felt I could have spent the whole two days on what I needed to do in my classroom alone. Going away inspired but slightly daunted. As a school, we need to spend a lot of time discussing planning and expectations.

Great two days – especially liked new software. This was a great refresher.

A very informative course – it all makes sense to me now! Clear explanation of resources and how to use them. Great energy and enthusiasm. I’m looking forward to using the strategies in school.

Interesting. Gave me good insight into the world of THRASS. Made me think about the things that we are teaching our children. It has made me much more confident with my own subject knowledge.

Very worthwhile. The program seems to be well thought out. Presentation very enthusiastic.

Very inspiring, thought provoking, demanding two days, which has lead me to question current practice. Further research necessary to consolidate knowledge in order to share it with rest of school. For SEN/EAL pupils, especially, it makes sense to use this programme as opposed to teaching sounds first, followed by names of letters etc.

You are very persuasive, determined, energetic and motivating. More food for thought. Enjoyed it. Was not the same as three years ago – with new ICT, assessment, progression, scheme of work – which is good to see. Needed a bit more VAK and brain gym for some of us but I did really enjoy it.

A very multisensory course. Even though we were sitting for long periods we were actively involved in our learning, which is a good model for teaching. The interactive resources are very useful.

The course gave a great insight into the reasons why children make spelling mistakes. The limited knowledge I had previously has been consolidated. Thank you for a lively course. Two days of spelling sounded daunting but was interesting and stimulating.

Absolutely brilliant: inspirational! Can I please have a bottle of whatever it is that gives you all that energy! This will have given all of us a fantastic boost – can’t wait to try lots of the new ideas out.
