GUIDED TRAINING FOR TEACHERS, ASSISTANTS AND PARENTS

THRASS ONE-DAY FOUNDATION,
BIRMINGHAM, APRIL 16, 2007

Portable Document Format

Very informative and also fun! Gave lots of ideas and examples of games that could be used in class.

A very enjoyable, informative day – fast paced, but fascinating. I look forward to implementing the ideas into Reception, and I am pleased to see there is now a scheme of work. This will help enormously.

Excellent throughout – very much liked the way salient points were re-iterated, emphasised – ‘driven home’ in forceful but fun way. Enthusiasm is catching; looking forward to implementing in Reception!

A great course. An insight into the teaching of THRASS. Can’t wait to get into the classroom and try it out. Great resources and inspiring presentation.

Excellent course. Can see clearly how I can use this scheme with all the children in my class. Used to find phonics difficult, but this makes sense. I now feel more confident to teach it.

Presentation was full of information which was explained fully in an interesting way. Lots of useful ideas were given to be taken away and tried with the class. By the end of the day, I felt excited and motivated and ready to tackle THRASS.

A lot of information presented in an interesting way. I like the repetition in general and especially in the use of words such as graph, grapheme etc. The course made sense of the teaching of phonics, which would appeal to all types of learning styles.

Excellent presentation. Very clear and concise.

Very useful day – lots of positive ‘buzz’ from the staff. Found the sessions on assessment/profiling and the new structured scheme very useful. Would be interested in e-mail course and second day of certificate course. Many thanks – lots of fun.

Although I attended first THRASS course I found this far easier to understand. So easy to convey to children. A clear explanation of how to deliver it.

Enjoyable. Thought that the calendar chart was very useful. Can see that THRASS can be a lot of fun.

A lot to take in but feel I managed to get a real feel of THRASS. Love the raps - very catchy. Lots of great ideas for use in Reception class – love visual aids. Think Alan delivers with great enthusiasm.

Attended previous course. Excellent reinforcement. Resources very useful.

Lively presentation; really enhanced individual knowledge and skills, which will be transferred to classroom and enhance teaching and learning. Useful examples – prompt ideas for implementation. Will support our VAK approach in school.

A really interesting day building on previous knowledge and giving more ideas of how to implement THRASS in the classroom across the age groups. Very well presented by someone who is obviously passionate about what they do – which is always a bonus.

Very comprehensive. Scheme has come on immensely since last time – makes much more sense for teaching further up school. Initial response was whole thing is very complex but actually doing practical activities made it clearer and the scheme of work is a brilliant idea.

Fantastic, now I can make sense of the resources in my classroom! Looking forward to implementing this. Also feel more confident with phonics.

A great course – really has filled in gaps in my phonic teaching. Very comprehensive and inspiring.

Good delivery – enthusiastic – interesting. Kept everyone on their toes. 10/10.
