Spelling potentially very useful in mainstream
lessons. The whole day has made me more confident about helping students.
An enjoyable course certainly interesting ideas and useful teaching strategies
for pupils with various learning needs.
Thorough, well explained, informative. Can’t help but get ideas. Let’s hope it
works with our weakest students.
Targeted to secondary level students – great! Loved the “whole education” 3-23
approach. Wish our feeder schools all used it. Presentation: visual, auditory
and kinaesthetic and very lively! Would like to know where rime, analogy and
research information fits into this scheme. Concern of THRASS would be overload
for SpLD students.
Fantastic – loving it – Thanks.
I really appreciated the training. I have used components of THRASS and have
seen wonderful results. I have never been trained to use it though and will
definitely continue to use the resources and numerous strategies you taught me
today. I am relieved the people who work with my children with language
difficulties have been given this knowledge and strategies as it will benefit
them greatly. Thankyou.
Very interesting, especially re the E.A.L. potential. However, to understand its
potential, I need to read through the booklet and check out the DVD and website
as I am not yet confident in implementing it.
Very interesting.
Useful and informative. Ideas can be assimilated into individual lessons
according to the needs of the students. System that hasn’t been presented as
‘too prescriptive’. Can be used imaginatively.
Material excellent, logical development of process and use of resources. Less
clarity about which target group of pupils method is aimed at. Distinctions
between pupils beginning to read and failed readers who have complex literacy
difficulties – not pupils who have been mis-taught. Very dynamic course!
A very interesting introduction to THRASS which has given me much food for
thought and confidence to start experimenting with it. Looking forward to the
CD.
This was a very interesting and useful session. I feel I’d need at least one
more session to feel confident enough to fully use THRASS with my students.
Excellent. Well presented and enjoyable. I am sold on THRASS. I would like to
know a little more about the handwriting concept. Thanks for a very useful day.
Very interesting. Would like to pursue ideas further.
Very enjoyable way of learning to read and spell. Good presentation.
Very good. Good presentation. Interesting and enjoyable.
Very interesting. Great resources.
Very interesting day. Well resourced and presented. Makes much more sense than
Jolly Phonics and has a huge scope for extension work and cross-curricular
links. Thanks.
Thoroughly explained, enthusiastically delivered, excellent materials – very
useful.
Using THRASS has already changed my teaching – today’s course will change and
improve it further.
