THRASS ONE-DAY COURSE
DERBYSHIRE, JULY 1, 2005

Portable Document Format

Excellent course has inspired me and I have some great ideas to take back to school. THRASS just seems to make so much sense. Thank you for such a worthwhile and enjoyable day.

Excellent course. Feel really enthusiastic about teaching THRASS next year.

I enjoyed the day very much and can see the logic in the scheme. As a new member to the team, it has given me a very good insight into THRASS. Well presented. Thank you.

A very informative day. Lots to do, lots of ideas. Thankyou. Presentation great and resources fantastic. Can’t wait to start with the children.

Good resources to use in whole class. Small groups, lovely environment.

Some of the resources involved in THRASS would be a useful tool to use within the classroom during all lessons. I do, however, think that some of the activities would be better delivered in small group situations which would be a management issue at our school. Good facilities!

Very well presented, interesting, simple programs to follow. Would like to try in class but time is the problem. Interesting day. Thankyou.

Could I have a set of Terminology Cards please? Excellent good refresher course. Excellent “new” resources. Goof facilitator. Thanks. THRASS is very effective. Enjoy using it in my class.

Very interesting and enjoyable day. Thought provoking and action packed. Hope to initiate into our school. Thanks.

A fascinating insight into perhaps unlocking some of the difficulties some of our children are experiencing in progressing with their reading and writing skills. Can’t wait to try it on my class!

I enjoyed the course, finding it very interesting. Loads of ideas on what to do in the classroom and what children bring to the classroom with them.

Today has really been very helpful to me. Excellent explanation delivered by Hilary. Hope to be using this in my day-to-day work in class. Also learning my grandaughter of two years.

Very interesting and I could see that there were definite possibilities for use with deaf children. I will follow this up by visiting a colleague in deaf education who is using THRASS already.

I have learnt loads. Hope to try this out at home on my own child. Would like to study content more to find how the progression materialises.

I found the day very enjoyable and interesting. Wonderful to see different approaches to teaching in a fun and relaxed way. Thankyou.

I am not an English teacher but have been very excited by this (which is not advisable at my age!). I found everything useful but will need time to digest and use it. I hope the school invests in the full programme.

Very informative and has helped reinforce good practise in our school. One-day course would not be adequate for schools who are not already using THRASS. Thanks also to the school.

Gained a clear view on how the THRASS chart works. Excellent resources and very visual. Great teacher and good food!

Very interesting and helpful because I joined a school already using THRASS so it has opened up new possibilities for me. Well-delivered course. Many thanks.

A “starting point” to being able to make a start using the THRASS chart which so far has been redundant on my classroom wall. Useful ideas, practical, multi-sensory. Quite a lot of content but really well delivered. Thank you. Fab too.

The reading materials and strategies presented do not have an age bias, which makes it useful and appropriate to students with special needs.

Good detail of how THRASS works. Practical sessions good. How would this program work with Special Education Needs? – Break it down or add extras? Very well spoken and good use of material.

I have found it very helpful and has made me think a lot. I am sure I will be using it a lot more in my daily work.

Fascinating. Well presented. Good ideas for games etc.

Very interesting and informative. A lot to take in in one day.

Thank you very much. I’ve found the day very informative. I think I will find it useful personally and professionally as I have a little boy (three years old).

Informative and thought provoking day – I re-visited many of the ideas I was introduced to by Alan. I look forward to making THRASS work in school in the near future.

Very informative. Lots of good ideas to carry on in school and home life.

I found the day very enjoyable and interesting. Great to look at a new way to teach children to have fun whilst learning. This seems a great fun way in which everyone in the class can have fun and learn at the same time – something that will stay with them. A great day – thanks a lot.

The resources involved seem to be very useful. However, I found the training very dull. Having been through three years at University and teaching for 4 years I found the ideas very out-dated and also obvious activities to do. Nothing really new was demonstrated and I feel quite disappointed.

Very informative. I wish I’d learned THRASS much earlier in my career.

Excellent insight into the THRASS programme and resources. Will be useful resource to dip into for many of our pupils.

Very useful and interactive course. Good introduction to THRASS teaching system. Thank you.

Explained comprehensively and at an enjoyable pace. I have learnt a lot today and feel that THRASS will improve my teaching.

An enjoyable and factual day. Makes the role of teaching children more fun and keeps them interested. The CD and raps were great. Will definitely visit website for more ideas.
