1. Speaking and Listening [1 min]
Speaking and listening skills are taught using pictures and keywords. These skills are taught from the outset and are the foundation of the whole programme.
2: Phonemes and Keygraphemes [1]
The units are the forty-four speech sounds and one-hundred-and-twenty keygraphemes of English.
3: Letter Names [1 min]
Both lower-case and capital letters are always identified by name - as is expected of good readers and spellers.
4: Natural Links [1 min]
Learners are able to make natural links between the forty-four speech-sounds and their spelling-choices.
5: No Changeover Teaching [1 min]
There is no need for any changeover teaching, from artificial letter-sounds to natural phonemes and graphemes.
6: Continual Reference [1 min]
There is continual reference to whole-picture class charts.
7: Observable Standards [1 min]
All of the outcomes are assessed by tests with observable standards of achievement.
8: Cross-Curricular Comparisons [1]
Comparisons are made between words from different subject areas.
9: Lifelong Skills [1 min]
The programme teaches lifelong word solving skills.
10: All Ages and Abilities [1 min]

The programme can be taught to learners of all ages and abilities.
