Excellent, well done. A good refresher course and very thorough and well
prepared.
Very useful, particularly like the multi-sensory approach. Versatile and easy to
use. Fun!
Very informative. Very user friendly. Good resources.
Many thanks. Logical way of teaching phonics with good visual, lively,
multi-sensory resources Thanks.
Focussed, engaging and “challenging”. A super stepping stone for building upon
to help master English.
Now understand how the charts work and how to use them for spelling and reading.
Good content for all ages. Will think about using THRASS when doing spelling
patterns. Not sure about the handwriting.
Very informative. Able to use it from Nursery upwards – enjoyed the day. Hilary
explained it with care and was very clear in her explanations. Colourful and
clear resources.
Good examples of how to introduce it and not just what it is. Will try to
introduce it especially to children with spelling issues who can identify sounds
and children that need to physically manipulate things.
Thank you – a quick fire introduction and great care taken to clarify our
questions. Have used THRASS a little in the past, but keen to try out now I’ve
been properly initiated.
Very valuable to hear about things from a teacher’s point of view, as opposed to
work in class which I’d already seen. Well delivered course with loads of
information. Just want to get going with it again.
This was most useful to me and gave new insights and ideas for teaching phonics.
It also raised questions about the structure and phonic progressions used in
teaching dyslexic pupils.
Very enjoyable and lots to learn. Very clear in use of terms. Good to see the
structure of skills. A little more thinking time (e.g. try this word –
yourselves – trying some stages) and discussion on materials.
Found it an exciting concept and another tool with which to help children read,
write and spell. It will be interesting to try with our KS2 S.E.N. children.
Thankyou.
A good recap into the way phonics works – a better understanding of how the
THRASS chart works. A better insight into spelling techniques. Thankyou.
Really good course. Love the class size Picturechart. Will start to ensure I am
using all the technical vocabulary each phonics lesson. Great resources for
classroom practise.
Useful in reminding me of things previously learnt on previous course.
Hopefully, colleagues will understand what I’ve been trying to explain to them!
Thoroughly enjoyed the delivery and explanations.
Good content – can see application for all ages and abilities – links with Word
Level work from NLS. Enthusiastic, knowledgeable delivery. Good, thorough
explanation of charts, resources. Useful examples of classroom practice/delivery
but some of these were repeated – could have used time for other aspects.
I found this a very useful course. I can now give the children more spelling
strategies. Thankyou.
Very enjoyable, keen to get started but concerned that it must be a whole school
scheme to avoid confusion. To use this day’s knowledge is important but cannot
reach its full potential unless followed by all. I learnt a lot and very
challenging in places. Good presentation, good visual aids and good
interactions.
Very clear and concise. Many ideas to share with young children. Will help me to
make appropriate changes.
Excellent introduction to THRASS. I feel I could use some of the techniques with
KS2.
Really enjoyable and I have learnt a lot. Looking forward to trying these ideas
with the children. Thanks.
