This pack consists of four resources for teaching essential speaking, listening, reading and spelling skills. The T-54 THRASS Picture Book, T-55 THRASS Picture Cards, T-56 THRASS 500 Workbook and T-57 THRASS Spelling Tiles are used in classes by teachers and assistants. The resources are also used by parents, at home, to support the introduction, revision and assessment of the THRASS keywords and basewords, until their children have successfully completed all 4 phases of the THRASS programme.

These four resources are also the Course Resources for the 4-hour THRASS Accredited Certificate for Parents, presented by an approved "THRASS Certified" teacher or assistant (or approved private tutor).

If in using the Workbook (T-56) and Spelling Tiles (T-57), help is needed in identifying the phonemes (speech sounds) of English, the THRASS Phoneme Machine (T-58 for PC and T-68 for Mac), with moving human lips that pronounce the sounds in words, are useful resources. The Online Version and the two downloadable Trial Versions (one for PC and one for Mac) all have the Phoneme Grid (the main grid with the 44 phonemes of English). The Full Version has the Phoneme Grid and the Word Grid, containing the five-hundred basewords of English. In ‘Synthesize the Word’, the moving human lips perform "the highly important skill of blending (synthesising) phonemes in order, all through a word to read it" (Rose Review Final Report, March 2006, England).
