Whether you are looking at a single word or a list of similar words (such as Weekly Spellings for home), use these vivid 'concrete' tiles to teach classes, groups or individual learners about: spelling choices - graphs (one-letter spelling choices), digraphs (two-letter spelling choices) and trigraphs (three letter spelling choices); consonant blends/clusters (by selecting two or three of the blue tiles); syllables (by selecting a red tile for each vowel phoneme); reading errors (that is, we may say the wrong phoneme - so the 'ea' in teach is not the same as in 'bread') and spelling errors (that is, we may select the wrong grapheme - so 'teech' is a sensible guess).
