Handwriting, Reading and Spelling are linked. By writing over the letters in this workbook, learners will develop strong visual images of the twenty-six lower-case letters and their capital equivalents through correctly overwriting letters that progressively reduce in size. They will develop their phonemic awareness - awareness for the 44 phonemes and the consonant blends/clusters that we say when we read (either aloud or to ourselves). They will develop their graphemic awareness - awareness for 120 graphemes and the consonant clusters that we use when we spell. This workbook is very popular with schools that have found THRASS to be successful. Learners can systematically work though the workbook. It is also very widely used in special education, and by those who are learning English as an additional language.
