THRASS DAY TWO
CERTIFICATE, DAY 2,
CARDIFF, WALES APRIL 11, 2005 |

Portable

(Severe Speech & Language)
I have
used THRASS for the past year with groups and individual students who have low
or none ability reading. THRASS has given these children confidence and has
helped them achieve increased reading ages. Thankyou THRASS for the knowledge
you have taught me and my students. Once again an excellent course.
Useful to revisit information from previous day. Particularly useful to work
through the profilecard to see where we should be aiming now that the children
have developed some of the basic skills. New ideas helpful!
Useful to revisit ideas and support work being carried out in the classroom and
therapy sessions. Generated good ideas within class teams and nice to have
focused time to think about the next progression. The computer programme looks
fab!
Excellent opportunity to find out more about how THRASS can be used in the
classroom - suggested activities and guidance on assessments using THRASS,
computer program that looks very pupil friendly and classroom friendly. The
course has inspired me to use THRASS further and given me plenty of ideas on how
to support my pupils individual needs.
Thank you for a very full and entertaining day, Alan. I feel much more confident
after this day, and understand how to move on to the next stage. I have also
learnt how to fill in the recording sheet (THRASS profilecard) which had
hitherto confused me!
Good second day, which brought back some good ideas, and revised others. Still
all making sense. Hope the rest of the country follows suit soon. We need to
target the colleges ASAP, so that students aren't having to re-learn the
teaching of reading, writing and spelling once they start their new jobs. Thanks
and good luck with Mr Blair!
Excellent framework which I look forward to delivering to the class. Thoroughly
enjoyed the presentation.
Not having used THRASS a great deal and this being my first day. I found it a
great help. Would like more.
Very informative, useful, cleared up some problems I had previously. Inspiring -
can't wait to try out suggested activities with the children. I would certainly
recommend the course and materials to colleagues.
Useful review of basics. Good balance between consonants and vowels -
stimulating questions that helped tease out 'nitty gritty'. Political points
were relevant but in my view, overdone. Thank you for a good day!
The course was very informative and interesting. Things were explained very
clearly and made a lot of sense.
I found the day very useful and it gave me more of an insight to understanding
THRASS. Everything was explained in depth and has given me more confidence when
helping the children with THRASS.
Useful review and update on THRASS.
Useful review and extension to further what we do! Gained more knowledge by
using it in class and then having the second day to concrete what we have been
doing. Been very interesting.
Tremendous course! I'm now well and truly THRASSED! Website will be of great use
and interest.
Another enjoyable, informative day. We have been using THRASS with enthusiasm as
a team (teacher, N.N.E.B. and S.A.L.T.) but today has given us new ideas and
confidence to carry on. We look forward to using the new web site and to compose
some songs - maybe even Mr. Thrassman - the musical! Glad to be a member of the
Thrassamaticians Club! Thanks!
I found the course very informative and interesting. It has given me a better
knowledge and understanding.
Very informative!
Great to be refreshed in the use of THRASS. I feel more confident after this
session than I did after the first day! This session has cleared up questions I
had regarding the assessment of children's understanding. Great day.
Excellent clarification and extension of information and knowledge that we have
been using in the classroom. Feel refreshed and inspired to take THRASS to new
dimension once again! Much needed help with explanation of Profilecard. Given
confidence in assessment of areas covered and next step needed.
