Fantastic! Very good! I came knowing a little and now feel eager and excited.
Resources and ideas were realistic. Feel I could adapt ideas to all ages. Alan
knows his stuff and passed on his knowledge in an inspiring way.
Fast paced, entertaining training. No chance to fall asleep or get bored!
Excellent content, excellent delivery. I aim to start teaching THRASS next week.
Thank you for both educating me and motivating me!
Yippee – I’ve got lots of new ideas – no excuse now. A thoroughly enjoyable and
enlightening two days. You answered many of my questions in the first half day.
I now feel confident to move on from the raps with my class and am sure they
will benefit from how I have been enthused by this course. Many thanks.
Very enjoyable and informative.
Excellent course delivered in a vibrant way. Would love to see this put into
action in our school. Thankyou.
Wish I had this when teaching a large class of EAL kids. I had no starting point
for the child who arrived without a word of English. As a dyslexic I now
understand why the schools failed me and why I have always said the letter names
to spell. I think you should repeat the word after spelling it to reinforce what
has just been spelt.
I really enjoyed the training. It made sense of things I myself have previously
struggled with as a child. Gave strategies to overcome confusion within
teaching. It also helped to confirm that I had begun to implement this correctly
and gave plenty of fresh ideas to be working towards. Thankyou!
Brilliant - really made me think about the way I am teaching. I think my class
are in for a big change. Thank you for making ‘phonics’ make sense. I hope I can
now make it make sense to my class and my husband!
Great to be able to review what I learnt on one-day course and to clarify things
that have come up since beginning to use the program. Feel re-inspired and
pleased by how much I have learnt.
Another excellent day – just what I needed after the initial course. I had got a
bit lost as to what I should do next. Is there a way of contacting other THRASS
teachers who teach the same age group as oneself?
Fantastic understand of learning the English language. I feel that this training
should not only take place at teacher training but also be led by the early
years team to set the roots in the right place. Enjoyed the learning, it has
taken on a new meaning for a person who has English as a third language. Keep it
up Alan!
Excellent course. Good interaction. Good explanation of all stages and how they
can be developed at different stages within the school. Great to see a
demonstration, thanks to the brave teacher. This course made things a lot
clearer as to how to take it forward – the demonstration helped this too. Many
thanks.
Enjoyed the two days enormously. A lot to absorb but I’m certain students can
gain great benefits. Thankyou.
Excellent! Very entertaining, not dull presentation. It made a lot of sense.
Cheers, Alan!
Very informative. Day 2 was a lot to take in – will need to spend time revising
all points. Intense but enjoyable.
Fantastic! It will help me keep up with the children in class. As a parent I
feel it has been very useful to help me start literacy with my young child. All
parents should come. As an adult, I’ve learnt so much to help myself!
Very intense course – very thought provoking – eager to put into practise; once
mastered on the children!
As a parent I have invested in some of the THRASS resources. They have proved to
be invaluable in helping my son read, write and spell. As a staff member I am so
pleased that the school has invested in this programme as it makes so much more
sense than the others available. Brilliant two days – thankyou!
I was sceptical prior to this – thought programme I’ve used in the past was
good. Now I’m converted – it makes sense! Thanks lots! Am now worrying about how
to get it all into the classroom – will take time I’m sure but feel pretty
confident! Am looking forward to trying it all out – as a mother of a young
child and as a teacher. Am convinced they’ll all find it easier than me to take
in! Very enjoyable!
Excellent! Really made me re-evaluate my role in teaching early communication
skills in the foundation unit. It has also given me the confidence to take
children to higher levels.
