I found the course very informative and practical. It is something I will use in
my own teaching practice. I hope it'll reach as far as the country of my origin
– Russia.
Thanks a lot! It was very exciting, challenging and informative. I used to be
very sceptical about the system, but these two lectures have changed my attitude
completely.
I thought the course was very useful and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I wish it had
been four days long rather than two days. However, I think I have learned enough
to be able to teach my students the THRASS programme. Well done, Alan, for
having the patience and knowledge to produce something that I think is useful to
teachers not only of children but those who teach English as a second language
like myself.
I thoroughly enjoyed the course, thought the presentation was excellent (if a
little fast-paced for my liking!) and have taken on-board much material to think
about. It has tied in well with work I am covering on the City and Guilds 7407,
Stage 2 course and I will definitely now be incorporating THRASS into my
teaching and learning strategies -plus using the materials/resources.
I believe THRASS is useful and works well, although I was very sceptical about
it before the course.
Very interesting and informative. It was delivered with style and passion!
However, there was too much material to be covered in such a short time.
Very interesting and useful training.
I have found the course highly informative and very practical. I hope I'll be
successful at implementing it and making it a part of the syllabus. Thank you
very much.
A most stimulating two days! Alan, your enthusiasm and conviction are
infectious. A great product!
I thought it was very informative and opened up a whole new way of approaching
words and spelling. It was a very condensed course and was difficult to take it
all in, at one go. Very well presented.
We enjoyed the course! It was a very useful step by step introduction to THRASS.
Alan was motivating and provided useful examples and ideas for practical uses.
The theory behind the learning was useful and supported the ideas and method.
Thanks and well done for the course. I enjoyed it…. Music was good!
An excellent, albeit, too brief introduction to THRASS. I think the system looks
really good and was delivered really well. I look forward to using this system
with my class while it is still fresh in my mind.
I enjoyed the course very much. However, I did feel it was a lot to take in. The
materials used were very good and the course has increased my interest in this
area. Many thanks.
Thanks mate! There was more information the second time! Just try and not pitch
to one person. All the best.
This training was very useful! There will be a need for "update" training so as
to catch up with developments.
Presented in an excellent way. The stage T8 session needed more time. Very
interesting and light hearted.
An excellent course that made me re-think the way in which reading and spelling
and word recognition can be taught in a coherent and graphically clear manner,
to people who are both completely illiterate in English and also to those who
have difficulty with their reading and spelling.
A very intensive and comprehensive course. It was almost like learning a new
alphabet. A little overwhelming to take in, however, with practice it will
become very useful in ESOL training. As a whole it was very well planned and
organised.
Worthwhile. Learnt a lot and hope to put all 'Basic Skills" trainers through it
soon. Gained a good insight.
This was my second time on the course. It was still very interesting and
informative. I appreciated the demonstrations of teaching with the materials.
I thought the course was very well organised and structured. It was very intense
and there was a lot to digest within the two days. Although I found it
relatively straightforward, I believe some of my colleagues struggled to
assimilate the information at the same speed it was relayed. Having said that, I
personally found the course thought provoking, imaginative and above all useful
and practical.
