97: THRASS REVIEW

I like the thinking behind THRASS. It makes a lot of sense. Ask yourself in what order did reading, writing and speaking evolve? The answer is we spoke, we wrote, we read. Nowadays most dictionaries agree we use 44 phonemes, represented by 26 graphemes in various combinations (thinking mainly of the dialect of English we would teach foreigners).

Alan Davies and Denyse Ritchie have charted the 24 consonant phonemes and 20 vowel phonemes, each to its box, each to its place.
