THRASS - Special Needs Pack, by Alan Davies & Denyse Ritchie, was published by
Collins Educational, an imprint of HarperCollinsPublishers, Hammersmith, London,
England, in 1996.
THRASS is a structured multi-sensory literacy programme which teaches children
about letters, speech sounds and spelling choices. THRASS is divided into three
main skill areas - handwriting, reading and spelling. These skills are
inter-related
and build on each other to increase children's knowledge and understanding of
the 44 sounds and 26 letters which are the key to successful reading and
literacy.
This pack contains a copy of each of the
THRASS components: TEACHER'S MANUAL, THRASSCHART, THRASSWORD CHART, THRASS
CASSETTE, HANDWRITING BOOK, READING BOOK, SPELLING BOOK and ASSESSMENT BOOK.
Who is
the Primary Special Needs Pack for?
This pack has been specifically designed for 7-11 year olds who have
difficulties with handwriting, reading and/or spelling. It may be used with
younger and older children and those who need additional help with English
because it is a second or other language.
